At times the water pressure into our home seems low, so I use this to check the pressure. The City that provides my water ended up replacing the meter shutoff to fix the problem.

The quality of this gauge seems to be good… made of solid, quality materials with a brass connector. For my first use, I installed this on an outside faucet, getting the gauge on hand tight. I quickly found out that hand tight was not enough, as water leaked from the connector when I turned the water on. To prevent it from leaking, I had to use a pliers to get the gauge tight enough on the faucet. Once I stopped the connector from leaking, water started dripping from the gauge itself. Not a lot of water, but constant dripping. This wasn’t a big deal, though, since I was testing an outside faucet.A nice feature of this gauge is the interaction between the red and black needles. Prior to using the gauge, simply align the red needle to the black one, then turn the water on, and the black needle will move the red needle to the maximum pressure tested. When you disconnect the gauge (and the black needle returns to the zero mark), the red needle will still register the highest reading attained. This makes the gauge very easy to read if you have to test in an awkward position.Unfortunately, I have no way to assess the accuracy of the gauge as I have nothing to compare it to. I do know that our water supply is supposed to be between 65-85 psi. This gauge registered our water pressure at 65 psi, so on the low side of what we should be getting, but within the specified range.Overall, I would rate this as 4 stars and would recommend this to a friend. This could have earned a 5-star rating if it hadn’t dripped during testing. So, if minor dripping presents a major problem for you, you might wish to consider a different product.I hope you find this information helpful.

The big orange knob makes attaching easy and the dial is easy to read... Be aware that this gauge's dial contains a liquid so do not think that it is leaking. There was no further information other than the ad on Amazon... but then you attached it by screwing it on and detaching by unscrewing... so it is not rocket science... so I am not complaining..

Works great, but i tied white string around center post to minimize bouncing of red needle.

As soon as I took it out of the box I was certain it wasn't going to work. The needle was below 0 and there is a peg that presumably is to prevent the needle from going below 0. I tried it anyway and sure enough it hit the peg and wouldn't go past to show me a reading. Returning and will buy a different brand.

FYI This is not a liquid filled gauge. It does have a magnified plastic lens that lets you see the numbers and hash marks clearly. THE NEGATIVE.... look closely at the dial. The PSI numbers show 0, 50, 100, 150 and 200, fair enough but if you count the hashmarks between the 0-50 there is only 8 of them, so what PSI is EACH hashmark? After 50 psi the hashmarks are standardized at 5 psi each hashmark, Do the math and its hard to figure out what the pressure actually if you fall between 0-50 on the dial.

Well to be perfectly honest, in my humble opinion, of course without offending anyone who thinks differently from my point of view, but also by looking into this matter in a different perspective and without being condemning of one's view's and by trying to make it objectified, and by considering each and every one's valid opinion, I honestly believe that I completely forgot what I was going to say.

Seems that my water pressure is fine: 50psi steady with surge to 75psi

It works as it is supposed to for reading water pressure but I find it very hard to read in bright daylight or bright light due to the odd edge curvature of lense. It distorts your view. If the lense was flat it would not do that or if the curvature was further away from the scaling of the gauge. It is like smearing Vaseline on your glasses (if you wear them). I use all kinds of gauges daily and have never had this experience. I may just make the lense removable so that I can see the reading properly only when I use the gauge as I won't be using it too often. Wasn't worth the effort to return it. Just a little disappointing.

Great tool to have to verified the water pressure and the surge needle is very handy.
