Sturdy design and surprisingly heavy! Simple and easy to use and not as loud as i would have thought. Just need a couple coffee filters in the chute above the plunger to keep the dust down. Now i can start processing all my ore while the trails are iced up!!

Great for crushing smaller rocks, however, larger rocks won't fit in the cylinder , so they need to be broken first. Great for new gold seekers.

I bought this to crush the oyster shells for our chickens to eat for their necessary calcium. I have a free supply of oyster shells and now have a device to crush them. Buying crushed oyster shells for chickens is very expensive, and I need to keep them supplied. And this device saves us a bundle of $$$

I found for panning, having to use a flat bottom bit in such a small hole is pretty tough. You have to get the stones down to the right size and make sure that the bottom hits flatly, otherwise you won’t get the material small enough to pan. I can’t say that I would buy this one again just because of the diameter of the tube. Frankly, if I had any advice to give, I’d say purchase a larger model.

Bam, Bam, Bam goes the hammer, out comes frit. Great upper back workout. I was able to process about 30 lbs. of frit with this. You will probably want to get a set of filters to go with it.

Does the job well. I find it works better if i drop the pestle, give it a quarter turn, lift it and drop again. The dust at the bottom gets packed so I use a stick to clean it every now and then.

The most important drawback is the paint inside. It ends up in all the frit so far making it fairly useless . Then, the clearance between the plunger and the cylinder wall is a bit wide and might work better if there was less clearance. The opening width is about 2 1/8" wide where most wine bottles are at least 3" wide necessitating hand breaking to fit bottle in to device.

i tried it out with white glass and as you can see from the photo is grey white glass mixed with black paint, rendering it totally unsuitable for glass of any colour . Even if you fritted black glass there will be paint in it, and will ruin the fused glass piece! This false advertising should be corrected. i will be returning it as it is unsuitable for purpose.
