I ordered it last week and received it today, right on schedule. It arrived very carefully packaged, complete with mounting hardware. The gnomen was very simple to attach.The sundial is heavy and solid, very well made. It makes a lovely focal point in my garden. I'm just thrilled with it!I did not buy a pedestal for it, as I had a pretty, fluted concrete pedestal left over from a large birdbath. The sundial fit on it as if it were made for it. Even just a section of log or tree trunk could be used as a pedestal.

Sundial arrived quickly and was beautiful! Although I bought this for my own garden, it was so beautiful I thought about buying another one as a gift for a friend. It would make a great gift. It has been in my garden for a few months and it now has a patina that has quite changed its appearance...it looks even better. The shiny brass has aged and it looks like it has been in my garden forever (NOT in a bad way, it just looks like it now belongs in a mature garden...not shiny bright). It takes some adjusting to show the correct time...i don't think it will really show "exact time" and it seems to need adjusting as the season is changing. BUT I did not buy it to set my watch by...it is a beautiful addition to the garden.

We just got our sundial and pedestal today. Beautiful and heavy. Agree the spear has to be angled just right...about 45 degrees...but it screwed right in. We love the caption on the sundial for our backyard 'oasis'...hopefully will have many years of enjoyment...Seems very well constructed and substantial.

Ordered as a milestone birthday gift because the inscription is especially appropriate. Arrived later than promised but just in time for birthday. No accompanying description listing made of brass. No stamping of materials or country of manufacture on the back. No care instructions included. Does not fit the suggested pedestal from the same manufacturer.Will give the sundial tomorrow on the special birthday, returning the pedestal. The inscription is the winner.

I ordered another version of this - more expensive - and turns out that this one was far superior in every way - they are incomparable!!! The weight, the packaging, the shipping - this one is superior in every way. I am completely delighted with my purchase. The ROME brand is truly giftable. Don't fall for the copies.

It’s pretty, but I purchased the pedestal from the same company that they suggested, and the dial is far too small for the stand.

This sundial is nice quality and pretty but there is no way to attach to a pedestal (no drilling on back—completely flat). Do not buy if you want to attach to a pedestal. The weight is very light to just sit on an elevated pedestal. I am disappointed.
