At first I was skeptical about this cross bar as I was reading alot of reviews regarding on how hard it is to install but let me tell you, installing these was pretty easy. All you have to do is set the base and the bar on how they are supposed to be, DO NOT tighten the screws yet on the base and bar, install them on the side rail first and once you have them installed then tighten the screws on the base to the bar. Each bar are labeled so you won't miss which way it supposed to face. These are also pretty sturdy and so far haven't had problem with wind noise. These are actually better than the oem in my opinion. The bar came in with paint chip but I dont mind it at all. I highly recommend this brand.

Overall, I give the product itself a five out of five but the cheap metal tools provided in order to piece the cross bars together did strip one of my bolts. However, thankfully the whole kit did provide an extra bolt. When reading the directions, one of the directions is completely wrong when it tells you to put the driver side gaskets holes facing inwardly and it tells you to put the passenger side gasket holes facing outwardly. In order for the bolts provided to even line up with the holes on your vehicle both the passenger and driver side gasket holes need to be facing inwardly. None of them should be facing outwardly. Otherwise, it is literally impossible for the bolts to lineup with the screw holes. Lastly, The kit provides an adhesive strip of cushion that is supposed to go on all four ends of the crossbars before installing Onto the top of the vehicle. However, the directions never once mention this step. So if you are a person that likes to go step-by-step in the directions to confirm their work so that you can install this correctly you will sadly miss a step and realize it later on and have to take off the crossbars just to put the cushion on and then reinstall them all over again. This is not a two person job like many people have said on here. It is a one person job, two people will only make it go faster, but you can truly get it done with one. Many people have complained about the difficulty of installation and it isn’t because of the actual difficulty level of putting it together, it’s the difficulty of putting it together and then finding out because you followed the directions that were wrong you will then unfortunately put it together wrong and then you have to go back and do it all over again. Other than all of that, the product does seem sturdy and it appears to be worth every penny. Because of the frustration of the directions and the low quality Allen keys that are provided I give that section a three out of five stars. So that is why altogether I gave this product four out of five stars.

Solid and durable cross rails!!! A+++++Glad I didn’t pay over $200 for the Honda brand.Saw many reviews saying assembly instructions were difficult. Here’s some quick advice that should help…1. Stand at back of vehicle facing your rear hatch.2. These are the LEFT and RIGHT reference points in the instructions >>> (ie) driver seat is LEFT side3. Parts are marked accordingly…take your time and lay out parts as marked.4. The SHORT rail will be fastened into the rear rail screw holes.5. The LONG rail will be fastened in the front holes.6. Put ends on rails as guided, but assemble loosely for making adjustments. (Tighten after both sides are attached)7. Keep 2 small hand towel on hood under each side of each rail while attaching to protect against scratching the top8. Use washers and inserts where directed.9. Step stool is helpful.Hope this helps

Love this rack. Looks great on my brand new 2024 CR-V Hybrid. The quality is even better than I expected. Nicely painted aluminum. The mounting brackets are indeed quite heavy and sturdy, strong. All of the parts are clearly labeled for where they go and what direction to install.The instructions could be made a little more clear. I highly recommend to screw in the cross bars to their mounting bracket side pieces and then install. I put the cross bars in last and it is nearly impossible to then screw the cross-bars from underneath into the side rails. I don't think this really matters much as the brackets are in firm and will not go anywhere. A tip - when removing the plastic cover screws on the CR-V, make sure to unscrew these, not pry them off. I made the mistake of prying on the first screw I worked on and it broke off with the plastic threads stuck in the screw hole. It was a real bugaboo to get it out to continue with the installation. This is a great rack. Final word is it was packaged excellent with all of the parts bubble-wrapped nicely.

Installed on my 2016 Honda CRV. Instructions that came with the package were easy to follow. Used a plastic trim tool to remove the stripping. The stripping on my car starts from just above the trunk door and runs all the way down to the front hood. I used the trim tool and started at the back. There are clips under the stripping that clip in. Once you feel a bit of resistance from the clips just gently pull straight up and careful not to break it. I only needed to remove the stripping down to the windshield. Once the stripping was removed, I was able to mark and cut the stripping with a hack saw. Reciprocating saw would have been easier but a hack saw worked fine. Once you make all the necessary cuts, the built-in bolts on the car are accessible and you can attach the cross bars. Overall I'm happy with this after market roof rack.
