Provides excellent cushion and stability. One of the best I have used. Also helps with hand position.

Won't stay on. Bought two. Lost one as it kept falling off.

Pro: Easy to install...just slides over the existing thumb rest. Soft and supporting.Con: bulky, not sure how secure it is. Not sure I would trust it to stay on for marching. My daughter is learning to play clarinet. Bought a very, very old used horn. If there was ever padding on the thumb rest it is gone now. She was getting red pressure marks. I temporarily solved the problem by putting a pencil-top eraser over the thumb rest--which worked perfectly. For Christmas, I thought I would splurge on a top-of-the-line pad. Has only used it a few times but daughter claims it works great and is very comfortable. For a more mature player, I would be concerned about the amount of space it takes up throwing off your muscle memory. Also the horn's case doesn't want to make room for the new pad.

I love this I’m used to playing with smaller oboes and that caused me to have bad finger posture because this is such a thick thumb test it forces you to have good finger posture great for fundamental training

Metal thumb rest caused pain. Another brand rubber rest caused numbness. This allows me to play with no discomfort at all.

I wish I had this thumb rest when I was playing clarinet every day. My daughter likes it a lot because it has really helped make holding her Vito clarinet so much more comfortable.

Un petit problème au pouce limitait l'usage de mon saxophone. L'ajout de ce repose-pouce constitue une nette amélioration de confort.

This thing is great - it does two things to help with comfort and ease of playing. 1: much comfort for the thumb - less pain means more practice! 2: because the thumb isn’t right against the body of the clarinet, the hand is in a more open position, which helps with overall fingering.Highly recommended!
