NEW CONTROL BOX
The new technology and quality of these contactors resist arching when switching currents. This prevents the contactors from fusing together creating a closed circuit which can potentially damage your winch or vehicle and possibly serious injury to the operator.
NEW 3-STAGE PLANETARY
The real three sets of 3-Stage Planetary enables differential, deceleration (growth), reversal, and more. The combined use of multiple groups of planetary wheel systems can achieve a very large speed ratio,which can achieve coaxial deceleration (growth).

Purchased the 12K back in April of 2021, have used it several times and have no complaints at all. Would purchase it again when I need another one.

After my husband installed it it worked great with the attached controller. The remotes would not work. I contacted the company and they quickly sent new remotes and the control part that attaches to the winch. Couldn't ask for better service. This will be great for when my husband is out in the woods.

Definitely worth the price! I use this on my trailer. Hasn't let me down. Easy to mount and very strong. Only down fall is wireless remote battery only last a few hours total.

Winch quit working within 4 months of install on front of Jeep. Pulled the bolts on the motor and saw they were rusted. We didn't drive through water so it would have just been from rain getting into it and we live in Central Texas and it hasn't rained that much. Tried to clean it up and contacted Rugcel and they offered no warranty coverage. The product stated a 3-year limited warranty. After numerous e-mails regarding the issue, with their response being to take the winch apart and put it back together, the company is no longer responding. Would not recommend this product based on our experience.

Good value and easily performs the task I need. Glad I went with the synthetic rope and not the wire cable, saved about 20lbs on overall weight. I use it to pull my 18' Lund Alaskan out of the water onto the trailer. Plenty of power to achieve this task. I know 12,000lbs winch sounds like overkill but I tried a 3500lbs winch and it was not able to do the job. Rugcel has been a very good company to work with. Very responsive to my needs and easily communicated with. They helped me when the first winch was too weak and steered me to the one that got my job done with no hesitation. My advise when buying a winch is to figure out the weight of your object to be pulled and buy a winch rated at least 6 times the weight rating.

Came in a smashed up box with 2 out of 3 controllers broken but was factory packaging. Control head was miss wired but was an easy fix to straighten that out, but it uses color coded wires so I would say attention to detail is lacking. Made me go thru and check the complete assembly. Once straightened out it works great. I would say buy it but dont be surprised if you need to double check the factories work.

NOTE: Written before I decided to take another relook at the wiring and decided it made no sense the way it was wired, moved the small black wire to a chassis ground, then lo and behold the damned thing spins like a top. Great winch, lousy directions.It kinda worked, so I overlooked it's defect past the return period (my mistake.) The solenoid goes on-off-on-off repeatedly and rhythmically when you're using it, seems like you don't get as much power as it's capable of because the solenoid doesn't maintain. Also, sometimes the remote catches on "on" and that can be unsettling. I'll keep using it because I can't return it now but won't be buying one again.

I bought this winch (12,000) 3 years ago. I have done 7-8 recoveries and it has performed great. The front bumper has been under water several times yet the winch has never failed. If you guys come out with an upgraded winch I would like to test it for you!

I dont have a bumper built to mount it to yet, but i hooked it to a battery and it seems to work good. Both cordless remotes and the corded remote worked flawlessly. They could have marked which is in and which is out on the wireless remotes but otherwise im 100% satisfied with the product.

Easy to install and worked well on first two pulls. Haven't had it long enough to give an endurance review but so far so good. Wireless works well from further than the rope allows so that's nice. Be sure to wind the rope under pressure before using. The first time I needed it I hadn't. I tried pulling and rewinding by hand as best I could before using but the rope compressed into the already wound rope pretty badly. My fault on that one. Second time I used it worked like a charm.

Soooo..I installed this winch about a month ago now. I used the wired controller to adjust the cable after mounting. I swear I checked the wireless controllers, but I honestly can't remember. This evening however I went to install a light bar for the rear hatch of my wrangler. The controller for this light was controlling my winch!!!! I then checked wireless controllers for the winch and they dont work. They turn on but nothing happens. Super dissapointing for the light bar control and really dissapointing for the wireless winch controllers. Hopefully your wireless controllers will work for your winch. And be careful if you have remotes for other lights.....
