Well made and performs far better than a discount rug pad. Good amount of cushioning or spring. Makes our wool rug feel even better underfoot. It stays in place as long laid down on a clean, hard surface.It did have a smell for about 8 days (dissipating linearly over time). I wrote the company and they said, "it means that the curing process was done a little too fast. That smell should totally dissipate shortly. The odor is non-toxic as our pads are made with natural rubber..." They offered to return it but I opted to keep it as returning would be a waste of energy and resources. They were right that it didn't last that long.Lastly, it was relatively easy to cut with a pair of heavy scissors.

I purchased a 9x12 area rug and needed a pad, so I ordered an 8x11 pad and it is perfect! Don't order a 9x12 pad and pay more and then have to cut it down to size! No! The 8x11 works perfectly and the 1/4" is a really nice cushion without mushiness. I though it wasn't thick enough, but it is. No smell, the rubber back makes it non-slip (I probably didn't need the rubber back for a 9x12 rug with a 1/2" pile due to the weight, but I wasn't sure. I love this pad, high quality, American made. Highly recommend, I will be a repeat customer for my other area rugs.

So far so good. Got this pad to put under hall 2’6â€x 7’ rug that would never stay in place even with those thin waffle pattern anti slip pads. So far the pad and carpet have been staying in place and the added cushion feels better. Arrived in box, not folded, easy to remove and immediately ready for use, 1/4†thick as posted, & no smell. Have ordered a thicker version of the same pad for another rug in hall. Might return this 1/4†pad for thicker pad and replace with the 7/16†thick pad after I compare the two. But I’m very satisfied with the quality, performance and speed of delivery. Looking forward to comparing the two thicknesses and then getting additional pads for other larger rugs too.UPDATE : Received the 7/16†same maker pad and decided I like the thicker pad. Easy process on returning 1/4†pad. The 1/4†pad was good and would be adequate for other locations. The two hall carpets get a lot of bare foot traffic so the thicker pad was a bit easier on bare feet. Plan on more of these pads as I work through the house and paint all rooms.

These pads are great and adaptable to the size of runners for our bedroom rugs. They add just the right cushion, we were able to trim a little to fit the size necessary for the rugs. The mats maintain the rugs in the position intended. Our rugs also stay put on the mat, no slipping or sliding any longer. Will be looking to purchase additional sizes for our other area rugs.

Thus rug pad is thick and cushiony. What a game changer for my beautiful rug that is low and thin pile. To walk across this in our bedroom is so cushiony. I will purchase more.

I like it for the cushioning but it doesn't keep the rug in place as advertised which is disappointing
