The pants color didn't fade or spread when I washed them.The fit was perfect and the money value is perfect for the quality. And they are costume pants that have become pj sleeping pants...they are that comfortable.

The material is a little rough and much thicker than expected. But I've ordered other pants made of the same fabric and it gets softer as you wear it. The elastic seems to be pretty durable, and not too tights. The cut is much baggier than expected, though I think most of the bagginess is in the sides because even with the extra fabric, they get strangely tight behind the legs when sitting.I'm 5'4", about 220, and have a 44" waist. The XL fit, but I could lose several inches and they'd still be okay.

I’m genuinely impressed with these. They are very comfortable and fit exactly like the sizing chart said. I was worried that they would be smaller than needed but I was wrong. My only drawback to these is that there are no pockets but considering it was purchased for a costume dinner party that isn’t really a major concern. I would consider buying these for daily wear.

My daughter actually asked for these for her outfit for a Renaissance Faire during the summer. They were perfect, very light weight and breathable.

My husband comes from a family of professional costume designers/makers, and his take was it’s a good, classic fantasy piece; not historically accurate, but good for passive costuming. They hug very well just below the ankles, are quite breezy, and comfortable. I was okay with the look, much more poof to it, but I think it’d have to be tailored for it to have a better fit.

I ordered these Runcati Mens Medieval Pirate Shorts Renaissance Viking Colonial Linen Halloween Costume Pants for my teenage son.He loves menswear, he also loves period reproduction clothing. Our whole family loves costumes, our house is full of doublets and capes and swords and boots and gowns and petticoats and corsets—you get the picture.He recently got a pair of “pirate†britches he loved so much that he wore them all evening. Not as part of a costume, just because they were comfortable for hanging out and he thought they looked cool. He told me if I saw another pair of pirate britches, to get them for him, so I ordered these.Unfortunately, these were not as big a hit. The sales photo shows long breeches that seem close to the line of the thigh and leg. The pants we received reminded me more of the exaggerated Renaissance puffy breech you see in paintings and in Shakespeare plays.Each leg is quite voluminous, they almost look like puffballs. I can imagine Sir Andrew Aguecheek wearing these in Twelfth a night with his yellow argyle stockings.Maybe we got the wrong size? There is definitely a lot of room in the legs of these pants. My son is just under 6’, he weighs about 200 pounds. He’s got broad shoulders and muscular, hairy legs that are made for kilts. He’s big, not fat.He wears a 44 jacket, a 16 1/2†33†shirt, and a 38 waist in pants. But those are all a bit loose on him. He likes a slightly baggier fit. So we ordered him an XL. The size chart says it has a 36†waist, and I figured the elastic would allow for any stretch if necessary.The waist fit fine. The length was fine. But the thighs were enormous, like a truncated MC Hammer pant chopped off at the knee.We’ll find a use for these. We wear costumes a lot, someone will need britches that look like balloon pants eventually. The pants do fit, they are wearable. They are sewn well, he says they are comfortable to wear.But the pants we received look nothing like the pants in the sales photos. Maybe we should have downsized?I gave these four stars, I took off one star for the outrageous fit and the difference between what these pants looked like on the sales page and what they actually looked like in real life. But these are a decent pair of period costuming pants. If the thighs weren’t so ridiculously voluminous, I probably would have given these five stars.They remind me of Blackadder, “well, enormous trousers, of courseâ€.
