Have yet to put it under a heavy load, but so far has operated safely and effectively. Sturdily constructed and fits exactly as intended. This will allow your 50 amp plug to plug into a 15 amp outlet. You likely won’t be able to run a 240v water heater, but it’s exactly what you need to keep your battery topped off, your fridge running, turn your lights on and maybe an AC running for a couple hours while your getting your RV prepared for a weekend getaway or just drinking alone in your camper to escape your annoying family.

I purchased this because I had installed a 240v receptacle. I have a family member whose camper needs 240v. But ours is only 120v. As an electrician I was curious how it would go.So when the item arrived I used my multi-meter tester to figure out which of the 4 prongs connected to which part of the 3-wire side. The grounds are continuous, the neutral is continuous, and then just one of the hots goes to the hot on the 120v side.It feels pretty sturdy.The only thing I don't like, and it's not the manufacturer's fault, but because it has the handle to help pull the plug out, the weatherproof cover doesn't close over it. I mean, it's a handy feature, but I wouldn't mind one that didn't have the handle.Again, not the manufacturer's or seller's fault because I knew it had that when I bought it...just something to think about if you're purchasing this item. I could even blame the manufacturer of the outdoor receptacle for it because they should know most people have this type of plug and made the cover bigger.
