Although I was not impressed with the packaging when the tool arrived, I have been impressed with the tool’s performance. I specifically bought this for my current project and to use on future assemblies. If you read the manual, follow the directions, and use it carefully the first time, you will have good results which I did. It performed well out of the box and is easy to maintain. Yes, you can buy a more expensive biscuit joiner, but why should you if this one does the job well. As an experienced woodworker that watches my budget, I am pleased with this Ryobi tool.

I've wanted a bscuit joiner for years, but never had enough need for one to fell justified spending $200+. True to my experience with Ryobi, you get a decent tool for a lot less money. So far, my only quibble has been that it seems to cut a slot for a #10 biscuit with the depth gauge set to #0. Might also be nice if it did FF-sized biscuits. I should probably take a lot at the instructions. Oh, and a knob covers the scale on the bevel setting, which won't really affect my use, but seems less than ideal, Meanwhile, it does what I need at a price I don't have to wince about. If I end up using it a lot more than I expect, I might upgrade to a Porter Cable.

I purchased a renewed’ Ryobi biscuit joiner, the price was right. It didn’t look used; looked to be in excellent condition. However, the tool cut the slots at a slight angle (appx. 1mm difference from one end of the slot to the other). This defect is big enough that the tool is really unusable if you want nice, flush joints – the reason you use a biscuit joiner in the first place! This defect seems to be fairly common based on various reviews and feedback on Amazon and other sites. My only option on Amazon was to return if for a refund. I had planned on making a firewood storage box for my wife for Christmas. Guess that will be put on hold. Frustrating.

Works very well for joining to pieces of wood together to make table tops.It would be I little diffacult for a beginner to setup and use would take some practice on scrap wood.
