This is an awesome tool. Works great to smooth out rough areas, high spots, etc. The built in "kick stand" is great to protect surfaces and the blade when sitting the tool down, BUT you must start from the edge of your work to cause it to retract.

Got this reconditioned at a good price. I could have bought a cheaper one but was concerned about the quality of cheaper ones. This one is exactly like new and does an amazing job and smooth cut. This is my first electric hand planer and I think this will be very handy.

I had been putting off planing down some rough cut oak because of the amount of material that needed to be removed, I picked up this plane and was knee deep in chips in minutes. I had to do some learning on how to hold it compared to hand planes. I would recommend picking up a spare set of blades. I love the chip exhaust switch but if you're not hooking up to a vacuum it can get clogged. For the rough work I did this saved me days worth of labor.

This planner is fantastic, it cuts up to quarter inch at a time and it’s pretty accurate. You really need to use a vacuum with it because it blows so much dirt but it works great. The Adès are pretty easy to change too if you cut epoxy/wood, you’re gonna need to change them often.

Great product. Bought the factory rebuild as I expected to ruin it by using it to remove vinyl flooring from my camper/travel trailer. Used it and didn't ruin it at all, even planed the bathroom door afterwards. Very satisfied and has a warranty as well
