The scents are smaller than they should be because with one scent you can basically only make 1-2 of the tin candles, it contained everything needed to start, it’s perfect for beginners because this is my first time making candles, the colors turned out exactly as noted on the package. The two other downsides are the wick cutters are garbage and don’t work so just use scissors, and the instructions aren’t good so I had to look up a YouTube video that made it way easier and actually had good directions, the hot plate heats up super fast which is great but you don’t know what temperature you’re getting until it’s already too high. Overall I would 100% recommend it to my friends but I would recommend also getting a scale because it doesn’t come with one and it doesn’t say how big the containers are that are included so you have to guess (just an fyi they are 100ml a piece)

This is so much fun!!! I bought this as a practice run to start a candle business and it’s got everything you need to practice and comes with plenty of wax to practice with. I would make sure to put wax/parchment paper down while making encase you spill some wax!!!

While the packages of wax have a tear off strip the package wasn’t actually sealed at all. The interlock zip to reseal either was’t closed at all or it popped open in handling so shaved wax spilled out all inside the box. It was everywhere, even inside all the other plastic bags. Virtually every component needed to be washed and it took me a full hour to clean up. I wasn’t able to recover about 20% of the open bag. The wax has an extremely low melting point and even at body temp it’s greasy so cleanup was a huge pain, and I expect candle burn times to be very short, and scent throws to be weak while burning. The wicks seem okay. They’re coated and I expect they’ll burn fine, but they’re not super thick so if you’re using a jar wider than the included tins, you’ll probably need to double or triple wick it. Once the kit was cleaned up, it seemed to be nicely inclusive, and I’m looking forward to working with the included dried flowers and scent oils.
