Real nice tool for beach combing or metal detecting. The holes allow sand to wash away when you dip it into water. They let dry dirt sift through with a couple of shakes. The body is solid and looks like it's either one piece or I want to hire their welder to do a couple of jobs for me.The scoop is very durable and has some heft to it. It weighs in at 1 pound 13 ounces and the carbon fiber pole weighs in at just 12 ounces! The handle is durable and assembles easily. You have to attach it to the scoop with two bolts which is a bit of a hassle. The poles come with a travel bag, but the scoop has nothing. No bag to put it in and keep it from damaging other items. I do wish they had included a bag for the scoop and made the handle attach with the same pop-in fasteners that the rest of the pole has. Other than that, it's a well built scoop that should last me for years to come.

This is one of the best made sand scoops I have seen to date. The welding on this is clean and uniform. The welds also go all the way around the entire thing. This is a really solidly made sand scoop. The fiberglass handle pieces come in a convenient carrying bag so you can keep it all neat and together when not in use. They seem to be strong enough to last. Time will tell. But they sure wont rust.Everything fits together easily. And breaks down for storage.

Even though this didn't work for what I hoped it would work for, I have to give this 5 stars.I was hoping the holes would be just the right size for me to sift my pellets that go in my pellet stove. I have a lot of "fines" that need to be removed before I pour pellets in the stove. The holes are slightly too big for 1/4 inch diameter pellets. Instead of the "fines" being the only thing going thru the holes, the actual pellets fall thru. But no one ever said this would be good for my intentions, I was trying this on a whim, it looked like it would be perfect for the pellets, and it would have been if the holes were a bit smaller.Everything about this tool are top notch quality, made from Stainless Steel. It is extremely rugged. I'm not sure if an elephant stepped on this if it would distort this tool. Maybe an adult elephant, still, I'm not positive it would distort.

The scoop is well-made and works great for harvesting sand crabs. It can dig quickly and deeply into the sand to collect many crabs at once. The material is well made and high quality.

It's okay. A bit flimsy, but makes a fun toy for kids to bring to the beach. The holes are big enough that even wet sand can sift through. It's not super high quality, but it does the job.

This is a STRONG scoop! However, I'm unsure of which to use it for... I DO have a metal detector, and we are in south Florida where we have expansive beaches. I find all kinds of treasure there, but the addition of this tool has made that process a LOT easier! I don't use the extension so much as just digging down with the scoop itself. (The sand here is too dense to use the handle to actually scoop sand. I think the handle might be useful for perhaps skimming mud off the soft bottom of a lake or something...) That said, I found another really great use for this: I scoop up charcoal from my charcoal bin for a BBQ! Two scoops is perfect for a churrasco steak; one is perfect for the NY Strip!

I love, love, love this sand scoop for metal detecting! It’s incredibly sturdy and holds up well against the tough, compacted sand I often encounter at the beach. The stainless steel construction feels durable and resists rust, even after hours in salty environments. The design is really well thought out, the angled back and pointed body make digging a breeze, and the 8mm holes sift sand efficiently so I don’t lose small treasures. I also appreciate the option to use the short handle for quick searches or attach the lightweight fiberglass long handle for deeper digs without straining my back.Setup is simple and quick, and the grip is comfortable even during long treasure hunts. If you’re into metal detecting, this scoop is a solid investment that makes the process smoother and more enjoyable!#recommended
