I have never had the benefit of using rebar support chairs when I have poured concrete in the past. (I didn’t even know they existed until recently.) I was forced to try to jiggle and raise the rebar or mesh up to where it felt like it was in the right position, but really never knowing how close I got. When I poured a concrete counter top I did find out my system was flawed because rust and holes quickly formed where the mesh poked out of the concrete. These support chairs position the rebar exactly where it needs to be and holds it secure while the concrete is going down. It was so much easier to install the rebar and the price per unit makes it easy to be generous with the support chairs. I tend to be a penny pincher and so I could easily image thinking maybe I could save a bit by spreading the supports out, but again these are so inexpensive that the savings wouldn’t justify the risk. I put a chair at every intersection in my 10 x 16 slab and it worked great.

These rebar chairs were reasonable to use in the 2-4 inch height sections of my concrete pad. They're relatively durable because they're not big for plastic chairs. A pack of 100 was plenty to do about a parking spot worth of concrete with a handful left over. I recommend twisting the plastic fingers off if they inhibit alignment of the rebar placement - it's not too important. Overall, easy to use and saves a little time over the concrete cube style.

These rebar chairs arrived quickly and without damage.Quality of the material is good. The bases are wide enough to provide good stability. The bar clips are versatile for different bar sizes and allow a half-inch choice in bar support height/depth.The user should consider the actual top height of the rebar in use when choosing a support chair.Would I buy this again, Yes.I use Amazon reviews every time when considering a product purchase. Here is my rating scale:5 Stars: Excellent product, no hesitation recommending or using.4 Stars: Good product with some limitations, could be improved.3 Stars: Fair product, can be made to work if your put your mind to it.2 Stars: Not very functional.1 Star: Don’t bother, it might even be painful.
