I used these panels to back up the repair of our pellet stove side ceramic panels. The original ceramic panels had cracked. These panels were glued to the back of the ceramic panels using ceramic "glue," they hold the ceramic panels together and work great. I would rebuy these.

Luckily my wife and I didn’t have to fight over the Sasylvia Insulation Boards since two came in the package. She uses hers as a heat stop for making jewelry and I use my for soldering. In both cases it provides a nice large working surface and the peace of mind that we are not going to start a house fire.The boards seem a little fragile but they are sturdy enough to rest things on and press against provided it is not too hard. I can see where they would be a great insulation barrier for various ovens and kilns.
