Nice sax swab. It interestingly has 2 strings and 2 weights - nice in the event you get an equipment failure - you can pull it out in the other direction. I've used it on both my tenor and alto saxophones. This is too big to fit through my curved soprano. One tip - with swabs, put it in the bell side first, then pull up through the neck socket. Most of the moisture (water vapor/condensation, not much actual "spit") comes down the neck toward the left hand keys. By pulling the swap out the receiver area, you're keeping the moisture near the top. If you swab the opposite direction (from the top down through the bell, you take the moisture and drag it down through the other pads and make them wet. That doesn't make a lot of sense if you're trying to dry things up!

My daughter has used it for a month. It is durable, helps reduce moisture build up effectively!

This is a well constructed swab made from a microfiber cloth. The cloth seems robust enough for the job but soft enough to present no threat to the finish of any of my saxes. It is more versatile than some other swabs I have used over the years. It is large enough to give my tenors a good swab but still flexible enough to be used with my alto. I like the idea of having two strings so as to be able to work the swab back and forth and not just pull it through. That’s a better idea, for sure! Time will tell how well it will hold up, but my initial impression is that it will wear reasonably well. It’s a well thought out product and I’m happy to have it in my considerable arsenal of sax accessories.Well made , good material, creative design, and versatile enough to work in both a tenor and an alto. And a bargain price for what you’re getting.I recommend it!Keep your horn clean and dry. Practice, practice, practice! But ALWAYS have fun!

Feels like a standard cleaning swab. Good quality, lightweight and soft. Big enough for my alto sax, can’t imagine there’s a sax this wouldn’t work with. Cleans nicely leaving a smooth polished (to an extent) surface behind. Good value for the money as this product is not very expensive and it functions how it’s supposed to. Easy to use.

I was excited to receive this saxophone swab to help keep my beautiful silver plated Yamaha Custom Z Tenor sax looking and playing perfectly. Before receiving this swab, I was a little nervous that it would not fit a TENOR sized sax snugly enough to pull moisture out. Many swabs I have seen, are actually sized to fit a smaller alto saxophone. Although this will certainly fit an Alto nicely, it fits a Tenor sax perfectly also. It is perfectly sized and the design is well thought out to accommodate both sized saxophones. So in brief, I found that my fears were not necessary as this swab is actually a very nicely thought out design.Upon opening the package, I found the cloth structure to be very well-made. It was an actual micro-fiber cloth. VERY SOFT to not give little micro scratches to the delicate silver finish of my new sax. The shape of the swab was professionally thought out and had perfect size and taper to the cone-shaped swab to pull and absorb moisture throughout the ENTIRE bore of the saxophone while being large enough in size to firmly hug the inside of my Tenor sax.I examined the build quality of this swab and found it to be very nice. The edges were sewn nicely with matching color thread and finished perfectly to make me feel that I made the right choice in purchasing this item. No harsh, sharp, or hard strings or threads to cause scratches like many cheaper swabs that use hard, sharp and ridged fishing string in their swabs. What I liked most is that this swab is equipped with TWO substantially strong ropes (for lack of a better description). These strings or ropes are made of soft, woven, tubular shaped material. Much like a nicely made large soft, boot shoe-lace. Within BOTH of these tubular shaped shoe-lace type of pull-thru ropes, were a perfectly sized weight at “both†ends (2 weights). The weights are protected and shielded “within the inside†of the tubular shaped shoe-lace type of rope. This is very nice to avoid damage to the finish of your sax. Many swab strings only have one weight attached. This has 2 to pull the swab back and forth in both directions if you chose to. The weights were not too heavy to mar or scratch or dent the inside or outside of my beautiful silver saxophone nor were they too light to cause a struggle when dropping them into the bore of the sax to retrieve them at the other end in order to pull them through. Gain, the weights are protected within the INSIDE of the tubular shoe-lace. Not tied to the outside of it.Another feature I loved about this swab, and was different than all of the other swabs I have tried, is that it was made with a large, stitched-on round disk to hug the inside of the sax. Most of the cheaply made swabs are shaped like a simple square handkerchief or square cloth rag with a simple string tied to the end of a corner and a dangling, unprotected, fishing weight that is dangerous to the finish of the sax. This swab had a perfect taper and a perfectly round cloth disk at the end of the swab to grab the bore tightly and pull the moisture thru the sax and out the other end. This swab is NOT a simple flat piece of cloth. The entire structure and shape was tube shaped or cone shaped with softly sewn edges.I have illustrated my new swab with clear pictures to demonstrate the size and shape for you to see what I am trying to describe here. I have even placed a tape-measure next to it so you can visually determine the actual size of the product. If I have helped you in determining if this swab meets your needs, could you please hit the HELPFUL button to encourage me to continue writing clear and lengthy reviews and to continue photographing clear pictures to demonstrate my review.Did I earn a HELPFUL vote please ?

The material is very soft and absorbent. However, there is just too much material! The design is weird. I'm used to a simple shammy with a weighted string, but this is several triangle shaped pieces of material sewn together so that it doesn't bunch up, which is good, but it means there is just too much material. You would never get this cloth through the mouthpiece of the sax. Also there are weights on both ends of the string. Hum.... why?

I got this for my daughter's clarinet. It mentions in the ad that it can be used for saxophones, clarinets and others. However, it was too large for the clarinet and it wouldn't pull all the way through without tremendous force. I was able to get it through by applying maybe 60 pounds of pull, but my daughter couldn't manage. Fortunately, by simply cutting away the circular part of the cloth, which was easy to do, it then fit perfectly. My daughter used it today in band and said it was fine. It is quite strong and seems like it will last a long time, just beware of the need for this simple modification if you're using it for a clarinet.

This worked well for swabbing out a school tenor saxophone. I try to provide swabs & cork grease for all my school instruments as those two things will cut down on long-term repair costs, but most of the saxophone swabs available don't really fill the entire bore of a tenor sax.I also liked the second string to help extract it if things get stuck, which can sometimes happen with saxophones.
