My original fin on a Degree33 Ultimate 9ft long board snapped and i bought this as a replacement with the same size. Even though it seemed to have less width I feel a huge difference in stability and turning. Love the fin and that it has the no tool screw too. Now wondering how the 9inch fin would do....

ordered the 9" for a fuller shape longboard. I'm older so harder to keep balance on takeoffs especially when a fin tracks at top of wave. Have always surfed whatever fin was on board when younger but that's not so EZ anymore. This fin feels like nothing is on the board when i paddle in and adjust my rail for backside turn. Once I turn the fin is ultra responsive for a carve or pivot turn- but I like carving. Front side I got to feel it in head to slightly over head punchy beachbreak. The hold and drive are great. I like thin fin design very much especially backside. It's loose when i need to be and stable and drivey and holds in bigger waves when I want that. The fin is not gloss coated. I had to sand the base evenly on both sides to get it to fit in my fin box just right. I tried on both LB's I plan to surf it on, to make sure not too loose or tight in the box. It was a little tight. Sent first one back. 2nd was same - I just sanded it evenly both sides with a block. Pretty happy with the purchase. I wrote "Only reason not a 5 is not glossed up and pretty- which i could care less"- and now CHANGING MY REVIEW TO 5 after shoping for other similar fins Value for sure!- . Will see what happens when it detonates on a shallow reef. Until then- Price is right. Too bad only one color- I'd get a green or white one for a diff board-

Beautiful product. I'm looking forward to using it on my 9' Torg Horseshoe.

Fell in love with the 8 inch in my mid length so I bought a 9 inch for my longboard. The fin allows you to really pump the face of the wave and generate speed to make some weaker sections. Putting the fin far forward in the box it will whip the nose of my 9’oh scary quick. When you find that sweet spot, the fin will do some hard turns while feeling very smooth and stable through it. Fitment was terrific in the fin box for both the 8 and 9 inch fins unlike some other fins I’ve purchased. No side to side wobble and easy install. At the price, it is a steal for all the performance it brings!

It's unclear if it's intentional but out of the box the fin didn't fit a standard longboard box. Some sanding would be needed to fit. Otherwise, would have been 5 stars.

What i liked about the product is it was shipped with a wetsuit rubber slip cover for protection while shipping. And the fin color was correct. I got it a day early too .

The SBS Fiberglass Longboard Single Fin - Butterfly Model is an absolute beast. It fills my fin box from end to end, providing excellent tracking compared to my stock fin, which is exactly what I was hoping for.Probably obvious, but this would not work for shallow water or lots of plant life (although it may cut some weeds that other fins would catch) - there are lots of SUP rides I wouldn't choose this particular fin for, but I love it in deep water. The material is quite sharp, so if you’re looking for something softer, this might not be the fin for you. However, it does come with a very nice padded sleeve that you can use when mounting and to protect the fin when not in use.The fin screw can be a bit tricky to deal with since there’s no slack in the fin box, but I didn’t have any real issues finding the nut. Overall, I’m really pleased with this fin's performance and quality.

Cons:Fin needed to be sanded downPro:*Cool color*Decent template very close to the to the Greenough*well constructed fiber glassNeutral:But on the stiff side as compared to the Greenough A2 but that’s subjective to your surf needsFinal comment: wouldn’t buy again because I had to buy/do extra to get it to fit into a box. Too much of a gamble to buy and maybe use right out the box

The fin fit nicely in my 9 foot longboard. The flat screw nut that came with it was too wide, so I had to use another one. The company should include a few different screw nuts to cater to different boards.
