Very happy with this belt. I ordered a size large at a 36 inch waist measurement and i think i should have gone medium to have more flexibility as my waistline has shrunk abit with more gym time.It's not going to provide you the same support as a leather one but its great for someone with a shorter torso. I would love to have the support of a straight leather belt while lifting but it hurts like hell for me to use it This belt fits in the space between my hips and rib cage and provides me more than enough support for the lifting I am doing. I use this for squats, dead lifts, and clean and press. I am squatting and dead lifting 315 and feel this belt is adequate for that. I would seriously consider a leather belt much more past that. This is a great belt for what its meant for and very comfortable.

It doesn't have a buckle that digs into me when lifting. Flush and tight fitting.

I just received a size large which is suppose to range from 36 to 40". The seller's comments said the belt would touch at the largest part of the range and overlap at the lower parts of the range. That suggest that the belt would be 40 inches not including the nylon strap. The belt is just over 38 inches.Seller: Is this the normal length for a large size or should it be 40 inches which would provide a slight overlap in my case.

I bought this belt to help me with those heavy lifts... and boy has it paid off! Not only have my squats went up (155lbsx10reps to 255x10) but my deadlifts (185x8 to 315x5) and bench (185x10 245x5) as well! The belt fits great, and the contours are a nice addition. I highly recommend this to people wanting to lift serious weight!

I purchsed this belt for use during squats, overhead presses and deadlifts where the use of a weightlifting belt is important for additional support. The belt works fairly well for me with a few caveats.On the positive side, this belt is USA made and well constructed. As I said, it works pretty effectively for me in bracing my back and abdominal muscles. The contour shape does not interfere with deep squats as advertised and allows for excellent range of movement.There are a couple small negatives however. First, after about 4 months of use with fairly typical weight amounts, I find the velcro slips just a bit. It is not severe and does not appear to be getting worse with further use but it oft requires readjustment of the belt to keep it very snug after a couple sets. I do NOT have any concerns about the belt becoming completely loose or failing during a heavy lift. The redundant velcro strap assures this. Second, I wish the back support was even a bit larger vertically. The listed measurements are accurate and anyone under 6' tall or with a small core would likely not find extra support necessary. I cannot hold it against this product but for my personal tastes, another couple of inches of support would be ideal.Bottom line: If you're looking for a USA made, cost-effective weightlifting belt for squats, you'd be hard pressed to find something better. If you're over 6' tall or have a long core, you might consider something with larger coverage. Your mileage may vary.

I ordered the size from the suggested size chart and it is too big. And they do not do returns stuck with a $70.00 belt that's too big.

You have to be careful lifting weights and while I am new at this I also know I didn't want to hurt myself. This product give a lot of support.

B/c I wasn't sure w/ size due to various comments, even w/ other colors, i just bought large & it was perfect, not too tight or loose. I have a 38" waistline measuring on the belly line, 36" above belly. I didn't get med b/c i want to be able to breath. Being a gal 5' 4''w/ a short torso, i preferred the Valeo 3" belt, it was just more comfier & it being way cheaper was a bonus. Scheik products are good quality, have their gloves, very sturdy, so no problem there. I think this belt is great for guys that do very, heavy deadlifts & squats, it's pretty stiff, like leather almost.
