I'm living in an apartment where the property managers don't like to take care of their tenant's maintenance problems, and when they finally give in and make the attempt, they fall short of doing any sort of quality work. Last year, to patch up several jetting air leaks in the HVAC duct work, they used normal duct tape--which melted soon there after. Melted!I've been in stores looking for the right kind of duct tape, but no-one who worked at any of the large home improvement chains could tell me anything about the duct tapes they carried. Nothing of value, so I had been reluctant until I had the grand idea of reading reviews of duct tapes online, which brought me to trying out this tape.First of all, the tape is very, very easy to work with. There is a thin plastic backing that lets you handle the tape and cut it to the correct size without it sticking all over everything and losing its adhesiveness in the process. Once you're ready, you can peel a bit of the backing away and anchor the tape, then steadily peel the rest away as you apply the rest, exactly where you want it to go.The air pressure behind the leaks is so high that it literally tore off the duct tape that was applied last year, but so far (about 3 weeks now), this foil tape has held on tight without even a slight bulge where the air leaks have been sealed. I've run the air conditioner in the day and the heater at night (desert conditions in spring--cold nights hot days), and there has been no warping or melting of any kind.A couple of the air leaks are occurring where the duct work "meets" the HVAC unit. I put that in quotations because the "meeting" is offset by several centimeters, making it impossible to create a seal. I used some screws to wrench the duct work down onto the HVAC unit and quickly learned why this wasn't done--it caused the HVAC unit to make a racket that would wake the distant dead. I took the screws back out, leaving the large gap. These are the sort of air leaks this tape has been used to seal, and it has been famously effective. In fact, effective well beyond my expectations. And I've only even used a couple of yards off the 50 yard roll. That's all it took! So, yes, high praise to this stuff. Very high praise.

This tape is absolutely amazing. The adhesive is very strong and keeps my rugs in place. It's so worth the price I paid and I will be purchasing more. Highly recommend.

I've tried a variety of tapes to keep epoxy in, or out, depending on your POV. I've found this stuff works great. The adhesive pulls off cleanly, the epoxy does not bond to either side. I used to use duct tape, but if there's a leak or you miss a spot, epoxy BONDS to duct tape glue.

I should have trusted the negative reviews. This product does not stick to stucco -- at least, the stucco we have at our house that's like the stucco most homes have. Maybe -- just maybe -- this stuff works on flat stucco, but I wouldn't know. We bought this tape to secure Christmas lights on a horizontal flat surface. In other words, gravity is not an issue. Still, the tape does not stick. The FrogTape we used last year wasn't perfect, but it was much better than this product for our purpose.

I got this 50 yard roll from Amazon for about what I paid for a 10 yard roll at the local home improvement store. Definitely a great deal. It is very pliable, extremely sticky, and works great. I took one star off because it is not as strong as that other roll. If you are forming it around corners or uneven seams, this roll is far more prone to ripping, even if the sheet metal isn't sharp. I just had to make a bunch of small patches to cover areas where it ripped.

For me the tape did not work as well as I had hoped. I had trouble getting it to stick to most stucco and dryvit. Gave it a 3 because it did work good for some other stuff.

I've used about 100 yards of this over the last year or two to seal up invisible cracks & crevices in my home against incursions of pollutants from elsewhere, and to DIY some air conditioning solutions where parts from different manufactures didn't mate perfectly or I just wanted a complete seal. It is easy to work with (though I occasionally work with it for too long at one time and make a fingertip sore from pressing it into place firmly lots of times).I highly recommend this for environmental sealing as applicable (note that it has a UL fire rating) and DIY projects where you want to have impermeability to gasses or just want a firm hold that you can unstick and re-stick if needed (it will wrinkle up a bit if you do this, so try to get it right the first time if you want it to be prettier).Apply to a dry, clean surface for the best hold. It will definitely not stick to any surface that is at all moist but that is true of most tape.Keep a roll of this around like you would keep a roll of duct tape, just in case, even if you don't know yet why you might need it. This is more heat-tolerant, by the way, than duct tape.

I use this tape for sticking plastic for vapor walls. It sticks to almost anything. The bad of this is that if you tape it to some compromised paint, when removing it, it can also take the paint with it. I would suggest testing it in an inconspicuous place prior to taping the world with it. If you want something to stick well, this is the tape to use!Big Rudy

Don.t know about removing this tape, because I just installed it. Will have to update later on that issue. The problem with ALL carpet tapes is not so much the stickiness to the floor, BUT, to the carpet. Some will hold some carpets in place but not others. It doesn't seem to matter which brand you try, I have always had this problem.Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. You can't win.
