We purchased this product to do a revitalizing of our yard. We have used products similar in the past and they have seemed to be not as durable and well made as this product. The weeds have stayed out of the area so far and are very happy with this product. It was very easy to install. Simply cutting the area needed and laying down on the dirt area. The fabric is easy to handle and seems to stay intact and hard to rip or tear, has a nice weave to it and didn't fry when cut. I used a pair of scissors to cut the fabric which was easy to do. I would recommend purchasing some anchor pins they are very important to make this system work. They go in through the fabric with a simple push.Of course you can buy at the local hardware store, but why when you can purchase on line and it is sent right to your door. It was shipped very fast and the fabric came packaged well with no damage. Have been very satisfied with this product. Has done an excellent job of keeping undesirable growth from maturing and taking over my flower beds. I would highly recommend this product. Well worth the price, which I might add was a good deal. You will not be disappointed.

I really like this landscaping fabric. And it is just that... mesh fabric. I've purchased other landscaping "fabrics" just to find out they were really cheap plastic or some think paper-like material... you REALLY do get what you pay for. This Scotts Pro Fabric is great. It's easy to lay out. It is a thick, black, woven mesh fabric- rain/water gets through just fine while grass/weeds stand no chance. The fabric itself is 36 inches wide and 150 foot long. It seems pretty heavy duty, sturdy. We used it to lay a path around both of our raised gardens and around our house before having pine straw laid down. Finally... no more weed eating! Next spring we intend to place flowers/shrubs along the paths around the house, and I think it's going to look very nice.Don't forget, this does not come with the anchor staples, so you'll need to buy those. Amazon actually has some really good staples available here:. I'll be writing a review on those soon too.

No problems with this - it's performing as expected.Re the reviewers who gave low ratings because it's not actually "fabric," "landscaping fabric" is a generic term for products intended for this use - weed barrier - regardless of the material they're made from. Some are plastic - the thinner that is, the poorer the result is. I once had daffodil bulbs come up thru some of that. & They tear easily unless you buy a thicker version, & the thicker it is the more it costs. Check out the contractor grade next time you're in Lowe's, Home Depot, etc.The "nonwoven," sort of the texture of a dryer sheet, is much more effective.Read all the specs before buying online. If buying in a store, read the label AND discuss with an employee what you it for in order to get the right item.(Sort of like "woven" wire products such as what's used in window screens, for fence enclosures, etc - those are often referred to as "hardware cloth.")

The way I'm using it isn't exactly what this product is marketed for, but I cut it into strips to serve as weed-free walkways in between the rows in my vegetable garden, after rototilling the whole area. It is working so well - my garden has never been this easy to weed. I can kneel on it without killing my knees or getting too dirty. Since water can penetrate through the fabric, the ground doesn't get compacted and weeds are easy to pull. It also seems to be discouraging the evil moles in my garden - I get big dirt lumps pushing up under the fabric but then the moles seem to give up because so far, there's been no mole damage to my plants. Occasionally a persistent weed can work its roots through the fabric and grow on the surface (my weeds are definitely extra evil ones, though) and it remains to be seen whether this product is indestructible enough to remove, clean and store through the winter and use again next year. If it is, I'll be changing this review from 4 to 5 stars.

Gave only one star because wont allow a review unless I click a star. I would not give even 1 star for this product which, at first appeared to be of better quality than the $5 dollar store stuff. Mounting health issues prevent me from getting down and weeding. Knowing a major surgery and subsequent rehab were looming in my future I decided to buy this product for 2 reasons; the very reputable Scott's name and most important, the 25 year life of product. After my grown children pulled out all the grass and weeds by the roots, they covered my garden with this product using landscape pins that I purchased and then a layer of non floating mulch. 6 months later, it was overgrown and looked like a jungle. The grass and weeds simply pushed right through from the underside and things that landed on the mulch started weeds that were able to push their roots down through the fabric without any trouble at all. The only side of my garden that is now (2 years after putting this product down) weed-free is the side I did with 4 years ago with the $5 dollar store stuff. In fact, laying this product actually made it harder because now, I cannot just till the weeds under. I have to pull it up by hand, a section at a time, and separate out the weeds that are growing through from the top and the bottom.Remember that when you are checking good reviews against bad ones that most people review right away before taking the time to find out if the product lives up to its promises. Sadly, this is one of the WORST purchases I ever made. So many hours of work also much money wasted!

This landscape fabric is exactly as described in the ad. It is easy to use and is quite durable. I've worked with many brands of landscape fabric as a professional landscaper, and I really like this one.

It's incredibly high quality and durable, making it perfect for weed control and soil stabilization.I've used it in various areas of my yard, and it has held up exceptionally well over the years.

Bought this for the Scotts brand, turned out to be thinner and a bit flimsy compared to the brand I had bought earlier. Time will tell, if the weeds win, or the barrier does.
