This SD Factory SDS-Plus to SDS-Max Adapter is a 1.5 pound, 9" long behemoth. When I attached my shortest SDS-Max rod driver to it, the total length (including the DeWalt tool) was over 28" long, and HEAVY.But you know what? It works, and did the job. If you don't have (or don't want to buy) an SDS plus dedicated tool for hundreds of dollars, but have some MAX bits that you need to use, this adapter works.I took one star off of the rating because mounting the Max bit is not a smooth rotate-and-click operation - it takes several attempts to have the adapter grab onto the SDS Max bit. Also REMOVING the bit takes quite a bit of pull on the collar, which does not have rings on it to help grab it...and may be almost impossible to pull down with wet or greasy fingers.

There is nothing on the actual product to indicate that this SDS-Max adapter is made in the US, and the ultra low quality of the photoshopped images in the listing make me question if "SD Factory" even knows what an SDS+ rotary hammer looks like. Why fake an image showing an SDS-Max adapter on a Bosch 12v drill (with a 3/8" chuck)? I can't help but think that if this was really made in the US the factory would have marketing materials that show the adapter in use on an actual SDS+ rotary hammer...The adapter itself is completely generic. No branding or markings of any kind. It could really benefit from some knurling on the collar you have to pull back to insert a bit. There is no warranty after the 30 day return period. I need this adapter for one job and I hope it lasts long enough to get it done.

The SD FACTORY SDS-Plus to SDS-Max Adapter for Rotary Hammers, 8-1/4 Inches Long Black Alloy Steel Adapter expands the use of my Ryobi SDS Plus Rotary Hammer Drill by allowing it to accept SDS Max attachments. This prevents me from having to purchase a second drill in order to use bits that are not available in SDS Plus configuration. It's a quality made adapter that's sturdy and durable. It operates perfectly with my Ryobi drill and takes next to nothing to maintain. Just keep it clean of dirt and debris, lightly oil and keep in a dry place. I'm extremely satisfied with the quality and performance of the SD Factory SDS Plus to SDS Max adapter and consider it an outstanding value!

I’ve been looking for a product like this for a long time. I have an SDS plus drill but a few is my bits are SDS max sized. My drill has plenty of power but the smaller chuck size. I’m so glad that this adapter will allow me to use the SDS max bits.The adapter itself is sturdy and heavy. I have no concerns about it holding up over time. It’s definitely earned a place in my toolbox. Would 100% order again.
