This product makes watching ammonia in the aquarium so much easier! It is a way, at a glance to make sure it is stable. After an ammonia spike that killed every fish in my tank, I was nervous but this product makes it easy to keep track of. Great value and performance.

I like the product very much. of the three included in the pack; on had the sensor in the center almost peeled off even before opening the packet. one must understand that it is measuring free ammonia, not total ammonia.Total ammonia and unionized (free) ammonia can be calculated mathematically. if on does so, the accuracy of the product is verifiable. i would recommend this propduct

Very effective at determining when cycle has moved forward or to check conditions in QT or fish death. Best always have a spare ready to go. Not one to worry about ammonia but when I do this solves my worries. Occasionally double check it with independent test kit although that might shot total ammonia which is fine. I’m looking for confirmation and not precision.

So far I love these things. I used an API Amonia test kit and it was all over the place. I popped one of these in my tank and bumped the results with the salifert test and they both matched. It's nice being able to see if your levels are good without running a full test.

I put these in my two tanks that I'm currently cycling, and they both say that my ammonia levels are "safe" at less than 0.02ppm. However, when I test the water with my API ammonia liquid test kit, my ammonia levels are up to 4ppm! I just wasted $22. I hope nobody relies on these to monitor their water quality. Ammonia levels of 4ppm reading as less than 0.02 ppm is not safe at all! I am aware that these detect harmful free ammonia as opposed to total ammonia. However, they still read much lower than they should. I saw no change in color, even after adding 1mL of ammonia to my 20 gallon tank, which is about 1ppm.
