The Seismic 25 foot 16 channel snake is a sturdy cabling option ideal for small live venues, rehearsal studios and recording facilities. I use mine in a basement rehearsal studio, connecting 15 channels from microphones recording guitars, bass and drums (my 16th channel is a line level feed from the vocal PA mixer, so there's one open) to my 16 channel firewire recording interface. I've used cable-only snakes, but it gets confusing finding all the cables on the far end. This all-metal box is a sturdy single point to connect all your microphone cables. There are 4 channels in "reverse" to allow the board operator to talk to the musicians on stage (or means to get other remote sounds onto the stage). I'm not using these reverse channels. All the XLR connectors on the cable end seem high quality and work perfectly. Same with the output connectors on the metal box, all work perfectly. Can't say how well it will react to a cable getting tripped over and pulled out. 25 feet is more than enough for most rehearsal space applications... might be a little short for all but the smallest live rooms. This is a value priced snake with the metal box -- most others cost twice as much and have double the cord length (Seismic has more options with longer cords). Very happy with my purchase.

have used it now for 12 months.. one of the channels has failed .,. the chords themselves on the male end are not as sturdy as you would like so if you have your mixer up off the ground and cable hanging down expect some issues. I have considered reaching out to see if they will replace but truth is I never use all the channels so, i just dont use channel 4 now lol

I just used both of these short snakes this past weekend and they were the right length to reach the center of the stage (one in front and one in back) they really worked well for keeping the cable clutter to a minimum. The feeder cable is pliable and lies flat on the floor. The only suggestion that I can make is to provide some kind of strain relief for the “fan outs” and I would color code the connectors (in groups of four) to make it easier to connect to the main snake.

Was skeptical at first, but very happy. Each XLR connector is embossed on the shell with what designation matches the silkscreen on the snake. The (16) Inputs are numbered 1 - 16 and the (4) returns are marked A - D and use red cables to make it easy to identify the returns. Very Cool! Each XLR jack on the snake head has a lock/release button too!Compare this item to other makers at almost twice the price. Such a good deal I can buy another one for permanent use and one for touring so I don't have to tear things up and down!

I built a podcasting studio and this was exactly what I needed, or so I thought. The biggest problem with this device is some lines would generate static. Only about 7 lines were fine no static. So either bad grounding or a bad unit. Luckily it worked well enough to use until a better replacement became available.

I was really surprised at how well the product was made, and the care they took in packaging it.
