Such vibrant and beautiful colors. Very soft, easy to work with. I just started getting into pastels and I am so pleased with these. My only dislike is common to all soft pastels: they are messy. The dust gets everywhere. And I don't want it in my lungs or my mouth, which can happen by blowing off the dust, or accidentally touching the mouth with dusty fingers. If I do continue to grow with these I'll consider wearing a mask (oh boy!) and an air filter, but I'm more likely to use them sparingly as part of mixed media pieces. This is a great product. They are AP certified, which I understand means they do not use the carcinogenic pigments found in other art supplies--oils, pastels, etc. So that part is reassuring and appreciated. Definitely need some workable fixative to go with, so I ordered the same brand of that today.

Beautifully well made french chalk pastels, work marvelously, high pigment value, little chalk filler, some colors are brighter than others, some colors are darker. Beautifully smooth.

Easy to blend. Light yellows are nice for sunlit highlights. On a scale of 1 - 10, with Ludwig a 1 at the softest an Nu Pastels, 10, at the hardest...I would rate these a 3. Love them!

I used to paint by oil pastel, soft pastel is very different or precisely a new medium for me to draw.As Sennelier is so famous on it's oil pastel, I m curious to try it's soft paster too. Found a good deal in Amazon, and I am very very pleased about my decision. Very fun to work with and absolutely lovely and intense colour. Just regret that I should have bought a bigger set!!

Pour mes dessins au pastel sec. Belle "couvrance", couleurs éclatantes et lumineuses. Bâtonnets un peu poudreux, mais très tendres et ils s'étalent bien. Je recommande !

Very soft, brilliant nearly pure pigment, lays down a lot of colour in a single stroke. Looking forward to completing a painting commision with them.
