I am happy to report that I don't have any negative things to say about this product at this time. The light is really bright but it doesn't hurt my eyes!! I attached the light to my sewing machine. I'm in the process of sewing some crumb quilts ( sewing 1 1/2 inch squares together to form 3 inch x 3 inch 9 patch squares). The light is helping me to see how to match up my seams better before I sew them. The light was delivered fast. I received it within 24 hours of placing my order. The light didn't come with instructions so I watched a how to video on another seller's site AND read a number of reviews on this site about what NOT to do. I also used painter's tape to help me position where I wanted the light to be BEFORE I installed it. I didn't have a problem with it not sticking. I wiped down my sewing machine twice with 70% isopropyl alcohol; letting it dry completely before applying the strip. The light is easy to turn on. Just touch the button. To make the light dim, hold the button for 1 to 2 seconds. To turn it off, touch the button again. Some things to know:1) You'll have to measure and cut the strip if you have a small machine. My sewing machine is a Singer SewMate so I had to cut. I tripled checked AND marked where I needed to cut BEFORE cutting!! If you cut anywhere else but on one of the little scissor decal lines, the strip won't work. I got that info from someone who did that on one of the reviews.2) I attached the on/off button to my machine with some Elmers Tack (a removable adhesive), just to keep it from dangling.3) The electrical cord is long. It's as long as my sewing machine cord, so I used some small pieces of Velcro to stick the two cords together so that they won't get tangled up. Only time will tell how long the light will last. I sew 4 to 6 hours a day 6 days a week, so if it lasts for a year, I will be happy. I will update my review later to let you all know how it is holding up!!December 31, 2023: Just a quick update. I'm still happy with this light!! The only thing that isn't holding up is the tip of the end where I cut it to fit my machine. The sticky part of it came undone, but that was an easy fix. I just used some Elmer's Tack on the end and pressed it back on. Other than that, it's working like a dream. Like I said above, if it only lasts for 1 year (I sew 4 to 6 hours a day, 6 days a week) its worth it.

I was looking for a better light for my sewing machine. I didn't want one that mounted using a magnet because of the damage the magnet could do to the electronics of the sewing machine. Found this 12" LED strip that can be cut to different lengths. It arrived this afternoon. It was very simple to attach. I chose to use 3M double sided strips to attach so it would sit right next to the surface of my machine. Instructions were fine but in really small font - nor a wise choice considering most people buying this are doing so because theireyesight isn't as good as it used to be! The lighting is amazing. Now to see how well everything stays attached as I push large quilts through my machine.

I just bought this sewing machine, which works fantastic. However, it's light was very dim. I bought this light strip, followed instructions (had to use a magnifying glass to read it) I needed to cut it smaller, and it works fantastic! Here's pictures without the light and with it. I'm ecstatic over it!

This little light strip is a game changer! It provides light across the area where you are sewing so much better than the sewing machine light alone. It was relatively easy to install and super simple to operate. The only thing now is - I think I need some additional light from the left, outer side - guess I'll be looking for an addon mini gooseneck!

As a new quilter, I’m still finessing my quilting station.When I went to my first quilting retreat, I noticed that a lot of the quilters had these little light strips attached to the underside of their sewing machine arms to amplify their lighting.Went home and ordered this one and VOILA! I have twice as much (or more!) lighting as I did before and it has made a huge difference in the quality of my sewing (oh, OK - and in my seam-ripping, too)!Happy to have this addition to my set up and recommend it to all those using sewing machines.

I have a beloved 50 year old Elna sewing machine with lousy lighting. This little strip can be cut (it’s marked where) to fit perfectly. It lights up my sewing area perfectly for these old eyes.

I was a little worried that this light wouldn’t stay attached to my sewing machine while quilting, but I jammed material through the throat space as I normally would, and it has stayed exactly where I put it! I’m really impressed!

Concept is nice but quality feels so so plus also sensitive. Seems when I touch it lightly, it turns on/off. Of course will work for what it is purchased for

I was really exciting to get this light strip so i could sew when there is less daylight. But it was a disappointment. Okay, where do i start? The packaging was very minimal which is fine. But this light strip was advertised as 6.6ft. As you can see in one of my photos, it is definitely not that long! I measured it to be just under 2 feet long! Because its so short, I can’t stick it on my machine and plug it in, so it’s unuseable. I considered using an extension cord, but the usb does not sit flush in the AC adapter and I don’t think it would be safe. Also, it is described as having a dimmer. There is no dimmer, just a touch sensitive power controller. Although clips were not described as being included, they are shown in the photos. No clips were included with mine but the light strip has an adhesive backing. The 1 star is for the brightness of the lights. I don’t recommend this item!

I am a professional sewer and was excited to use these lights for my industrial sewing machine at work. When I opened the package, I noticed that the top portion of the lights was kind of torn. I cut that part off since it was so small and proceeded to place the lights on machine. I turned it on twice within the span of 5 minutes and the lights stopped working. It was fully working functioning before then just stopped out of nowhere. Such a waste of time and $24.
