Can't beat it for the money. I'm using a Craftsman lathe trying to chase .0005" lol. This does the job plenty. I'm happy with it's function and vintage look. Matches my 1979 craftsman lathe perfect.

Great live center. 100% concentric to the M4 taper. Use it everyday at work on tiny and huge jobs. (Not a paid endorsement, I’m a real guy)

After using several old live centers of unknown origin I had to get a good but affordable one. The Shars brand attracted me to this one and I have not been disappointed. The bearings are smooth and silent. The fit to the tailstock is perfect. I put quite a bit of pressure on the live center with the tailstock and it never complains.

Measured TIR with a 1/2 thou DTI. Needle barely moved -- too small to quantify on that scale. Maybe 1/10th?
