Decent tool set as a starter set. You'll probably slowly replace many (most?) of the tools if you get more serious. VERY ANNOYING that the listing shows what appears to be 2 marlinspikes - MISLEADING, there is one spike body, one 'ball' top, and two 'lower end' parts included = round end and flattened end. You can make ONE of the two shown configs, not both. I made 2 by putting the round 'top' on the pointy spike to create a 'shorty' spike, and I put the body and round spike together to make a second spike. The spike material is aluminum, not stainless, so is a bit soft and probably won't stand up weil to hard prying. (I have a real stainless spike on order from Paracord Weavers...) The lacing needles are ok and usable, the depth of the inner 'screw' is pretty shallow so it's a bit harder to get a good bite on the paracord. Again, you'll probably want better someday, but for now, it's a nice assortment of sizes that work ok-ish. The tweezers are ok - but you'll want a needlenose pliers someday, tweezer's grip is just not firm enough. The 'scissors' / snipper is complete junk, won't even cut small thread, just toss it and avoid the irritation of trying to use it. The buckles and paracord included are great for practice but again just so-so quality. The storage pouch is a bit small to hold everything, but I won't use it anyway. The spatula/pointed tool works ok for flattening a melted paracord end - but the knurling on the spike is better and gives a 'matte' finish instead of a shiny/flat finish - use based on your preference. The storage space inside the spike is pretty small, but again I have no intention of using that - all tools are going into my tool caddy, never 'pack them away'. In short, a decent starter set at a good price - but not the ultimate toolkit.

makes monkey fisted tighter. very sturdy for how little it cost. plus it came with extra stuff. easy to use and simple to learn.

This is a great tool set. They work great for 550. I would like a few needles with a bigger inner diameter for 1000lb but I can thread it in these needles with a little work

The picture shows two black spikes, but the package only includes one.Also there is no way to store the needles within the handles of the spikes.

Has heft and thickness. Stores inside via threaded cap. Works well on medium and small ropes up to 3/4 per my usage thus far. Should work well on larger lines but i have not tried it.

Everything seems smaller in real life. But don't worry this set is amazing. Really nice quality. Very useful and easy to use. It all comes in a handy pouch! Great to have option regarding size and even angled tools. Would highly recommend.
