The hoses I have are 2.5â€, these did not fit. They are the same OD and ID as my hoses. Seems to be of decent quality though. I’m sure they will come in handy for something else.

I needed to connect different brand hoses and these couplers pretty well on some and ok on others. One brand Shop Vac it fit well on their clip on hose end but fairly lose one their plain hose end. I'm sure that I can make them fit but I just throw some tape on the lose end. They fit well on older Craftsman and just ok on newer Craftsman and Rigid hoses. I think a heat gun and hose clamp could adjust the couplers to work well with any 2.5" hose brand. I use electrical tape for now. It doesn't leave any residue.

Although I had read that the inside diameter (ID) of these was a bit over 2.25 inches (the standard OD of a shop vac hose) I went ahead and ordered them figuring I could make do and the price for four of them was the same as the price of one. That reviewer was right. The ID of these are just a fraction larger than 2.25 inches (like maybe 2.265 inches?) hence they fit loosely on my existing hoses and a light pull on the hose disconnects the coupler. I put a piece of painter's tape on the inside which adjusted for the size differential and they are working fine for me now. However if you want something that you don't have to fuss with, bypass these couplers otherwise they are working great for me.

They are made of hard plastic without any sort of tapering so it's very easy for them to come off. The hard plastic makes them durable, but a softer material with a little give might be better. If you just want to join two hoses some duct tape might help.

These are almost exactly 2.5" as stated (outside diameter). The same as the OEM couplers. The inside is 2.28" diameter, just like the OEM versions. But they are too big. How can that be? They are also 2.5" Long, at not 3.3" Long. The mating vacuum parts increase slightly in diameter with the length. There isn't enough depth inside these shorter parts to seat tightly. The result is they are too lose and don't work at all.

I was pleased that the couplings actually fit as described. I have ordered hoses with couplings hat were supposed to be universalonly to find they were not the correct size.

I can now Join two shop vac hoses together and vacuum the top of the staircase without having to move the vacuum out of the basement. It will also come in handy whenever I use the vacuum in a vehicle. Will be able to continue to vacuum without having to move the vacuum.

The product was great but I had to return it. It was received by the seller on May 15. I have not yet received a refund (12 days later). Not impressed.
