This little device is easy to use and easy to install. If your like me, your health isn't the best, long showers are required because it just takes time. But as we all know we don't have the luxury of running the hot water indefinably and that's where a device like this is so very helpful. Not only can you turn on the water you can control the flow, less water without having to rebalance the temperature. For those of us where even water pressure hurts are skin and excellent tool for getting the perfect amount of water out.So many beneficial uses in the show for those in need.I will give one cautionary warning! If you turn the water to the shower head off please remember to turn it back on before you are done with your shower! You don't want to accidentally leave the water running at the valves which can cause your water heater to be drained in an instance if any other faucet is used in the home. It ends up creating a reverse loop in the water system. But this is a non-issue if you remember to turn the water off at the valves like you normally would :)

Our old showerhead had a built in cut off valve...the kind with a two way push button. Our new replacement showerhead has no cut off valve so I looked for one. When I saw this knurled slider type cut off I thought it might be a bit easier to use. It was easy to install. I just uninstalled the showerhead, then installed the new control valve on the hose end and reinstalled the shower head. I used two wraps of plumbers tape on the valve's threads. There have been no leaks. BTW, I have read some complaints that the showerhead still dribbles a bit when totally off. Ours dribbles for a second or two, then stops completely. I suspect the difference might be that we live out in the country and our watere pressure is not as nearly as high as it was when we lived in town. Frankly, even if it did dribble a bit, that would not be a deal breaker as it would remind you that the water was still on. Since I mostly use it to cut off the flow while soaping up and then turn the flow on again to rinse off, that is not a problem for me.

I bought a handheld shower head with no on/off switch, so I purchased this so I can save water by not having the handheld on while the main shower head was running. It works great! It saves water and is easy to switch back and forth as needed.

It's a basic but well-made piece of plumbing. Priced better than I could get in local stores.

I specifically bought this valve and paid a few dollars more because the item description said it was a ceramic and brass valve. It appears to have plastic internal parts, not ceramic. It does not feel like chrome plated brass either. It seems to be heavy pot-metal cheap construction. It works but not sure for how long. Looks just like the others offered that do not state brass and ceramic construction. It was easy to install and the cut off works easily. I should have saved money and bought one od the cheaper ones.

Very smooth valve operation and a nice chrome finish. Complete water shut off no leakage.
