My hamster wouldn’t run on anything else until we got this. We (as well intentioned but uninformed hamster owners) originally had a small wire wheel that someone gave us. We realized very quickly it was wayyyy too small, then got a flying saucer, she never even tried using it and again, I think it was too small, and then finally got an 8.5 inch silent spinner and she looked at us like we were crazy and stupid for even trying to give it to her. It was terrible, noisy and really unstable and still TOO SMALL for a Syrian! Enter the silent runner. It’s 12 inches (perfect size for a Syrian), runs nicely without the normal creaking and loudness of a normal wheel, and fit onto her Prevue 528 cage just perfectly. It does occasionally “thump†like it’s hitting the bottom side of the cage when she starts running really fast but it’s not a huge deal and doesn’t seem to bother her. She took to this wheel immediately and sometimes at night I find her just sitting in it chilling because it’s semi enclosed and seems like a safe option. My main issue with it is that my hamster has taken to peeing on the wheel while she runs so it leaves the wheel quite stinky after a day or so. It’s pretty normal, however and I’ve taken to wiping off the wheel with a baby wipe every morning and will take it out to wash it when I do full cage cleans. She has also taken to randomly falling asleep on the wheel bc she ran for so long that she tired herself out! When I try to gently move her to her shelter she shambles in like a drunk old lady because she is so tired 😂 So I guess that’s a win! I am not a fan of the color though and hope they will look into making different ones other than the yellow and orange. But overall it was a wonderful purchase that has given my hamster something for her to do at night. The enclosed front makes her feel safe and stable while running and you can’t put a price on happiness. She seems like a much happier little girl now and I am so thankful I got this wheel!

I have tried so many different wheels for my robo hamster, Olly, and this one is definitely the best. He's a speed demon, so he needs a huge wheel to keep him from spinning around on it and falling off. He still does have occasional accidents on this wheel, but not nearly as many as he did with smaller wheels. The wheel arrived already assembled and it's really easy to adjust the tightness by loosening or tightening the screw on the back. It's also SUPER quiet! Great value for the price, especially compared to 12-inch wheels from other brands.

These are ABSOLUTELY SILENT. The only sounds you can hear are the pitter patter of little feet or the back of the wheel hitting the wall of the enclosure. I just put a little padding on the back and it works like a charm.

Yes they are extremely quiet as long as you don't have a big fat rat and you don't use the piece that snaps on the front. I opted to leave it off because I didn't want it to get full of waste but unfortunately the connection on the track comes apart and makes it unusable...... So either use the front cover or I would just super glue the part that holds the track together before it gets put in the cage and covered in filth....lol but yes it is the quietest and nicest wheel I have found!

This hamster wheel is so much better than the previous one I got from Petco. It’s so nice and quiet and my hamster sure loves it no more sleepless nights for me.

It’s just right for my syrian, no sound other than the feet pitter patting. Had to wash beforehand due to a funky smell on it though. Pretty sure it was used and returned because I wiped it and got yellow on the towel. Nothing serious though.

If you own a Syrian this is the smallest size a hamster should have. They should never be curved on a wheel. Also even “silent spinners†are insanely loud. Don’t be cheap. I paid 44.99 CDN plus 7$ Shipping so about 50$ and I have not HEARD HIM SINCE. Truly silent & huge. Also if anyone in the reviews complains it’s too big for their cage it’s because they do NOT have the right sized enclosure. This wheel should fit with adequate room. If you cannot accommodate a wheel of this size you need to look into smaller animals like mice or robo hamsters. Again IF YOU OWN A SYRIAN. Buy it. Now. Before the price raises! You won’t be disappointed I promise. My boy already is happier and it’s been 2 weeks. And I sleep through the night with him right beside me in an area near my bed area. I was scared when I receive it because is a strong material in a poor package and ready to use.I tried setting it up or adjusting it in my way but I couldn't, which can be a good thing because the hamster is safe.The white ‘speed bump†I get concerned if my hamster can trip and get hurt I’ll keep my eyes, but he loves it and I get scared to take it away from him.
