This 11.6 x 16.5-inch half-sheet size baking mat will turn your pan into a non-stick surface. Silpat is especially great for working with sticky materials such as gooey dough, taffy, caramel, or anything your imagination allows. Nothing sticks to Silpat, so it will save you a lot of time cleaning as there is no more sticky mess on your pans! Silpat never needs greasing, which saves both time and money. Use Silpat instead for any baking recipe that calls for parchment paper. Utilizing Silpat products saves time, money and creates less waste for our environment. It is ideal for use when creating Danish pastries, baking biscuits, working with sugar and all sugary and salted preparations. Silpat Non-Stick Mats are made of fiberglass and silicone, and can be used thousands of times. Life of product varies--lasts 2,000 to 3,000 uses depending on use and care. Can be used at temperatures varying from -40 degrees C to 250 degrees C (-40 degrees F to 482 degrees F). Do not cut the Silpat as the fiberglass mesh particles might migrate into the food. Sasa Demarle Inc. was founded in 1965 by M. Guy Demarle in Northern France. Mr. Demarle was an experienced baker who was seeking a better way to make baguette bread with forms using non-stick silicone coatings. He went on to invent the first non-stick baguette baking trays or filets, as they are known in France. A few years later, Mr. Demarle also went on to invent and create the original Silpat and is known around the world as the original non-stick baking liner. Since then, we continue to strive for improvements in non-stick products for the baking, patisserie and food-service industries.

Silpat nonstick baking sheets are made of woven glass coated with food-standard silicone. Used daily by professionals, the sheets offer multipurpose uses for preparing, cooking, and heating up food. They're also easy to clean--simply wipe them off using hot water and dish soap. Store them by either rolling them up or keeping them flat. Do not cut Silpat baking sheets with metal, but with DeMarle's Exoglass cutters or knives. Silpat baking sheets replace parchment paper, and are heat-resistant up to 480 degrees F. The Silpat makes any baking sheet nonstick--no greasing necessary. The baking sheets are made in France.

Forget about aluminum foil, waxed paper, parchment, etc. for lining your pans. Buy one of these, and you'll only be messing with those things when you want to cover up your food or cook something "en papillote". As nonstick as it gets, doesn't seem to retain flavors, and unlike the cheap(er) imitation brand ones I've gotten from a local restaurant supply store, mine has not peeled a bit in over 2 years of hard use, including harsh broiling right under the element.I use these just about every time I bake, and they both make cleanup a breeze, and have saved all kids of dishes that I would have utterly ruined by trying to lift out of a sheet pan with utensils. You can just lift the mat, slide off the delicate/messy food onto a platter, et voila! - dinner she is saved.As a testament to how badass these things are: I once gave my dog a ham pan to lick out. He ended up tearing up a quarter of my Silpat thinking it was bacon! After making sure he didn't need to go to the vet (he was just tearing it up and spitting it out, the clever, destructive little bugger), I took my kitchen shears and cut the torn corner off, leaving a clean cut but some definite sharp edges that I was worried would fray. One year later... looks the same as it did when I cut it. That's a truly sturdy mat, right there.My friends also love using the extra-large ones for rolling out pastry and bread dough - non-stick, minimal mess, easy cleanup.

Where have these been all my life??!! I will NEVER make cookies again without using these silicone mats!! Yes, they are THAT worth it!! I bought 2 of them and 2 new cookie sheets to make some oatmeal raisin cookies for a Christmas gift and I have to say that th se mats worked amazingly well!! The cookies didn’t stick AT ALL!! They came off the silicone mats super easily and they were all evenly baked very nicely! I will HIGHLY recommend these silicone mats to anyone who asks about some!!

I’ve used knock-off brands for years and I bake a lot of cookies. Decided to buy Silpat and I knew the first batch that these were so much better. They grip the sheet pan much better (making them stay in place), they clean easier & don’t dis-color, my cookies bake much more evenly and they don’t smell like the cheaper options. I’m glad I invested in Silpat and expect these to last much longer so really worth the extra cost.

I've wanted these mats for a long time, but didn't purchase because they didn't fit my pans and it was not recommended to cut them to size. Well, I finally decided to upgrade my pans to the USA brand half sheet ones from my old cheapos. Those pans are awesome, by the way. These silicone mats fit the new pans perfectly. Cleanup is easy - put them in the dishwater and give them a quick wipe, rinse, and dry. I store the mats in the pans so they're always ready to go.

Works well. Dishwasher safe and reusable. Easy cleanup. It protects your baking pan. It makes it easy to remove food. It makes baking a lot easier. I would buy this again and give as a gift for bakers and people who hate baking. Both groups would find this tool useful.
