The Strong-Drive SD Connector screw is specifically designed to replace nails in certain Simpson Strong-Tie connectors and is the only screw approved for that application. The load-rated SD screw has been tested and approved for use in many popular Simpson Strong-Tie products. In certain applications screws are easier and more convenient to install than nails, and the single-fastener load values achieved by the SD screw exceed those of typical 10d common or 16d common nails. In addition, the galvanized coating makes the SD screw ideal for interior and most exterior conditions.

These fasteners are amazing. If you’re doing any kind of framing, you’ll know Simpson is the standard. May be more expensive than others, but you get the strength and quality with this brand. They drive easy and hold tough. Only brand I’ll buy.

I’ve got a La-Z-Boy rocker recliner that I busted the springs on and snapped a few of the screws and decided on whether or not to nut and bolt the replacement springs back on but this was a more feasible option. I purchased these back in August of 2022 it is currently March of 2024 I have rocked this chair daily and am still rocking it today and plan on rocking it for years to come hopefully. Or at least till the fabric wears out cause Lord knows the screws will out last that!The failed factory screws caused the springs to snap when I replaced with these I have not had any issues so I highly recommend these for any structural needs.

These structural screws are AMAZING! The hex head makes it easy for my driver to keep a good grip on them, and the screw pattern just pulls the screw into even the oldest and hardest wood. Honest! I have never felt anything like it! I am working on a home remodel where the wood has been in place for 40 years, and nails are hard to drive in without a gun. These go in like butter. Never thought I would fall in love with the design of a screw!! Better still, because they are structural (and can take shear force much better than other screws) they make installing metal construction connectors a piece of cake! No more bruised thumbs from missing the nail for me, or hard pounding in tight places!!

These are the BEST screws/bolts to use with simpson strong ties or hurricaine ties. And they come with a driver, THANK YOU; and they're cheaper with Amazon than Home Depot.
