A die cutting machine will always be necessary in order to die cut, though it's not the machine itself that physically cuts your material. The die cutter you use (for example a Sizzix Bigz, Thinlits or Framelits die), is responsible for revealing your design. The machine just applies the pressure. So if you're ever unsure whether you can die cut a certain material, check the compatibility of your die rather than your machine.

After many many years of using the Cuttlebug Die Cut Machine, it finally broke.Being that Christmas is right around the corner, I needed a new machine now!I gave the electric machines a quick glance, but I am an old tried and true manual machine lover..Amazon had the Sizzix Big Shot machine at a reasonable price and I did not need a manual to tell me how to use it..... so I grabbed it right away.Delivery was fast, and now I am half way through my List of Handmade Cards for Christmas.

I was originally considering a smaller manual die cutting machine but I'm glad I ended up purchasing this one. It has the 6" wide bed and I've been using it A LOT. It feels as though it will last a long time. I do have to put some extra shims of paper in when using thin metal dies but that could be because I'm only using one plate and a cut down to size green cutting mat from the dollar tree so that my dies won't cut into the plate. It works well though and my plates aren't damaged when doing it that way. I own a Cricut Joy and a Cricut Maker 3 so one might ask why I would bother with one of these but I love having the different options. There are so many dies that I love the design of and I would have to design those all over by myself in Design Space if I wanted to replicate it on the Cricut. Sometimes it's just quicker to grab a die, your paper and put it through the manual machine than logging into design space, setting up your design, waiting on blue tooth, putting in the preferences and details, setting the material up on the mat, loading it and then waiting on it to cut. I could never replace my Cricut machines and they do so much that this cannot but I would also never be without my manual Big Shot die cutter now. It's great for my cardmaking and junk journaling. I can even use the Bigz dies to cut felt and fabric for applique's in my sewing projects! I may one day eventually upgrade to a Big shot plus as well but for now I am so happy I bought this.

I bought this to replace an older one I had for many years. The only complaint I have is that the platform needs an adaptor. I kept the old platform from my previous one and that works just fine. I had debated over whether to buy the large one but as I have plates etc. for the 6 inch already. I didn't want to go to the expense of buying larger plates etc. My old die cutting machine was worn out. This cuts very nicely and I don't need a shim.

Had a Sizzix Big Shot but gave it to a friend after getting the Gemini by Crafters Companion. However, that was a mistake since some of the embossing folders I had were too thick for the Gemini. So bought another one. Works like a dream and now I can use some of my favorite embossing folders.

Era da tanto che volevo acquistarla e finalmente mi sono decisa.Acquistate anche separatamente delle fustelle metalliche che permettono il taglio di formati più sottili del classico feltro. E va una meraviglia. Ordinate già le fustelle Bigz per il taglio con i materiali più spessi. E non vedo l’ora di provarla di nuovo! Consigliatissima!
