The exteriors feature SKB's recognizable bar design that signifies the rack unit size on the front and rear lids. Molded bars on top and bottom also provide interlocking capabilities allowing you to easily and securely stack them with SKB's Standard Roto Racks and Roto Rolling Racks, making transport even more convenient and secure. Lids include rubber gasket seals to keep water out. Other standard features include front and rear steel threaded rails and rack screws 10-32 thread, recessed steel Mil-Spec twist latches, flush carry handles, and non-slip rubber feet. All Shallow Racks are 10.7 deep from front rail to rear rail.

I've used various SKB and Gator cases over the years. This one is definitely the best I've ever used. Compared w/ older SKB and Gator cases, this one improves upon them by:1. External material -- more durable, better texture.2. Handle design -- ergonomic. Those older case handles simply hurt!3. Latches -- easy to use and flush mounts.4. Holes -- front and rear hole alignment are excellent. Screws are included too.Overall 5/5 stars.

Love it. I wish this specific version had wheels and a pulling handle. There are versions of skb products with wheels but I find they are too bulky. This size is as large as I want to go.

I am a Ham radio operator. I used this case to build a portable emergency station. Since the shallow depth would take up less room overall, it's creates a smaller footprint when in storage. Rugged, and has very secure latches. And, although I haven't tried it in the rain, it appears to be water resistant.Strongly recommended

I installed an XR18 mixer with Furman power supply in the rack. The rack is really light yet very sturdy. Worth every penny.

I move away from a traditional wood and metal case to this. I'd never go back! It's a small fraction of the weight and very sturdy.Love it!

I have a 4U shallow SKB rack case purchased from a big German website (you know which one) which was brilliant.Then I needed to upgrade and got the 6U equivalent from here. The quality of the locks is like nothing like the other one I have. They are flimsy and they bend with the slightest of force. I need the rig on the road so couldn't be bothered to return etc. Not sure how long this is going to last so one star for wasted money.
