The skulls themselves just have a hole in the back where a threaded bolt is SUPER GLUED inside... Glad I only needed 2, because the 1st one I installed snapped just putting a little bit of torque to tighten it up... I may remove them and put a drop or 3 of JB Weld in there because the glue sure doesnt hold...UpdateThe seller issued me a refund for the faulty product. Bumped it up to 4 stars for customer support.

the bolts are glued into the skulls so be careful. Best to tighten them by hand, but still be carefull they are easy to break. We will see how they hold up to vibration....

These are very cheap plastic the screw pulled out of the skull before it ever compressed the lock washer. They are nice decorative pieces but not good for securing your tags. Seller was nice enough to offer a full refund but I chose to keep them.
