Who knew something so small could be so useful. I've always had magnets in the workshop to pickup stray nails from the ground but these are bulky items that just aren't convenient to carry around. I came across this tiny magnet pointer while browsing for something else and got it on a whim. When I got it, I stuck it in my pocketbook and forgot about it, that is until the next day when I dropped my favorite staple puller behind the desk. I struggled for a moment trying to move the desk, trying to reach behind, trying to knock it into reach with a broom and then remembered the new little gadget I'd gotten. I whipped out my pointer, slipped it behind the desk and came back out with my staple puller in seconds. Not impressed? Ok then, I took it camping, again, with no purpose in mind, just because magnets are fun and sometimes handy but I really had no intent on using it for anything. Oh but then our meal was burning and we couldn't get the pan out of the heat.... trusty magnet pointer time. I was able to extend the tip into the heat and pull our dinner out while it was still salvageable. Now that's a useful tool! It might not seem like much, but this little tool stays in my pocketbook or backpack just like my knife does. You never know when you'll need it but you don't want to do with out it when you do.

I was looking for a magnet to pull eyeshadow pans out of palettes and this fits the bill. It really extends a long way which can be really handy for picking up magnetic items from hard to reach places. I like that it's a pen that you can clip to things or clothes. Doesn't feel cheap. Feels sturdy. Am happy with my purchase.

I have lost bolts down in the space between the condenser and radiator at grill. That's a nightmare to dismantle. With this magnet I didn't have to. It was long enough and stable enough in terms of remaining assembled that I could slip the magnetic end point down to where the bolt fell in and used it to gradually work the bolt out of that tight space without damaging the radiator causing a coolant leak or the condenser causing an AC refrigerant leak. Who knows what other vital things it could save.

What is it for? Nails, screws, bobby pins and the like left inside pockets that will destroy your washing machine, small objects you drop behind/under something.What is it NOT for? Big/heavy tools or objects. There are bigger/heavier duty ones for those.NOTE: Put it BACK where you want to find it next time. It's small and sleek, so it's very easy to put something on top of it (oh, like maybe a bag of misc junk) and accidentally throw it away with said junk. Trust me on this; I am now buying magic magnet stick 2.0

Extended it all the way, placed it down the drain and pulled utensil out. It's the size of a pen when retracted. Package is easy to open.

Probably my own fault for not reading the description properly! Its smaller than i expected especially the last extendable piece which holds the magnetic end it is really thin there. Moral of the story read the dimensions and size properly.
