Doesn't comply with ASTM for Slump and or Cylinder tapping rod requirements. it shall have a round smooth tip which it lacks. The only reason I didn't return it was because I tossed it under the desk and might not use it all.

While the slump cones ordered from the same supplier on the same shipment looked very good and were priced well, these tamping rods (supposedly to be used for concrete fresh mix field testing procedures) do not comply with ACI requirements as they do not have hemispherical tips on either end. I will be returning as they are not as advertised.

This looks like a very decent product, the measurements advertised are accurate and the material is quite heavy steel. I haven't had the chance to use it yet, but looks just as advertised. Contrary to the other review, I got a tamping rod with a hemispherical tip, so it seems like it would meet any required specs.
