These trap some of the litter that clings to my cats' feet, but they don't work nearly as good as the ones with the holes on top and a solid surface underneath. These are nearly impossible to clean. The litter that does stay in them doesn't like shake off very easily, even when using a broom. Remember to hose them off outside so the litter doesn't clog your pipes.

Absolutely works. One week in and I love this product so much I am back to buy another one. I estimate it has cut down about 90% of the litter these 2 cats track around the house. I hate (HATE!) that litter all over the place!! I kept a broom in the room and I always swept up before I approached the litter area but it still wasn't good enough to keep me from stepping in the litter in front of their box, and of course it did nothing for the litter already tracked around the house. I bought the 24 x30" mat; it's why I chose this brand over others with similar ratings, because this size was available. It extends past the opening of the cat box on both sides, and long enough to catch nearly all the litter off their feet. I'm buying a 2nd one to put in front of this one in hopes of picking up that last little bit still on their tiny precious paws after they walk across the 1st one... again, I pretty much hate (yes, HATE!) having litter all over the place. Its annoying to have to constantly try and sweep and vacuum up! I just do not have time for that and it doesn't work well anyway... it seems resistant to moving once it is on a rung or on the couch/chair/etc. PREVENTION IS THE KEY!! And yes, it's easy to pour the trapped litter collected in the mat back into the box ...or into the trash, I suppose, if that's what you want to do. Mine did have crease marks in it on arrival, as it was folded into a plastic bag. It's very hot & sunny outside now so I opened the package, put the mat outside on the porch in the sun all day and that night, it was flat and there was no problem: it laid flat on the floor inside. The cats didn't seem to care that they have to walk over it, they were not bothered by it at all. That was my fear, that they would not walk over it or they would pee on it, but no. And I don't care how it looks (but... it's not ugly imho.) I care about not having litter all over the house. This mat looks SO. MUCH. BETTER. that that, so I am good. If you have any doubts, I would say, give it a try. For less than $20, it's a really great solution.

However the fact that it never fully flattens while the company says otherwise leads me to give it a three star rating. Whether it really needs to be fully flat to serve its intended purpose I’m mixed on; I will say it catches a lot of the litter (I use clay), and it took a good 5 or 6 days until I really needed to vacuum. So for that I do think it works as it should. Aesthetically however it’s going to always have the visible folds, so the company might want to think about transporting them flat. I haven’t had any scenarios where the waterproof aspect come in, and it so far seems pretty durable.

My little rat cat just loves to kick up litter onto the ground. This is a good product for this issue since it’s easy to clean kicked off litter. She’s also very young so she sometimes poop outside the box and I would’ve had to clean the floor if it wasn’t for this mat. Very good, you should get it if your cat also has a habit of being a menace. Just make sure to check the size and see if it’ll cover your litter box area and more. I would suggest going bigger cause that’s what I did. But it’s nice to have two mats still.

The mat seems to catch litter, but it was delivered in a box all folded up and so it has huge creases in it. The box actually also contained a little info sheet that said to use a hair dryer or heavy weight to remove the creases. I did both, and the creases persist.
