The bulb planter appears to be very well made and very sturdy. The day after I received it there were four bolts to attach (wrenches included) and then I used it to plant 6 bags of 10 each Tulip bulbs that were given to me by the owner of the local nursery as they were late in the season. All but 1 Tulip appeared viable and we're hoping for some spring color.

Sturdy and nice and heavy. Connects together with bolts with locking nuts and includes two decent wrenches in order to tighten. The handle is cushy and padded well. The steel seems strong and durable. I like that you can release the plug with a second step on mechanism. As it’s winter, I haven’t had a chance to try it out on the Stoney New England earth, but I think the included advice of waiting until it rains thoroughly will likely help no matter your soil. The teeth are wide and sturdy seeming too. I’m hoping this one outlast the cheap one I had before. It has a good heft to it, but comes very compact and could be stored so in future as well. Estimate 14â€x6â€x3†when packed. Feels tall enough to be comfortable to use when assembled and with four large size bolts, I feel it will stay secure. I got the Sod Plugger, Bulb Planter with Long Handle and Serrated Base to ground cover plugs to other parts of my yard. The instructions are easy to understand and not really necessary to assemble the sod plugger, as there are only 3 parts plus nuts & bolts. I installed the nuts so that the heads are facing my body which prevents me from getting scratched by the end of the bolts. The soldering at the handle is sloppy and looks inferior so it could potentially be weak and definitely needs to be better.The handle is padded and there is a side foot pedal which you step on pushing the plugger into the ground. To remove the plug, push down on the front foot pedal. The circular base is 3.5" which is quite large and allows for easy and successful plug transplanting.Overall, it's an effective tool but when working in hard ground, it's better when the ground is a bit damp, allowing for easier removal of dirt plugs. Besides the sloppy soldering job, it works great!
