I bought this Solburg filter silencer to go onto a Quincy single stage 60 gallon compressor that I use every day in my shop. The factory equipped intake from Quincy leaves a lot to be desired if I put it nicely! As soon as I opened the Solburg Immediately could identify the quality of this product, the finish is a nice durable thick powder coat , the housings clips together with a nice set of locking tabs to secure the filter , filter element itself is top quality and made in America. After a quick swap from the old to the new filter silencer the big moment of truth. Hit the breaker and man I was really blown away. First and foremost the sound dropped a pleasant amount , nothing earth shattering and not zero difference. But more importantly it changed the harmonic frequency of the sound. Before the sound was super raspy and harsh plagued with high frequency tones. It is now a much more tolerable low frequency thump which made working even near by it manageable. And of course I know it is feeding my unit clean air to protect the pump!

I was not sure which filter I needed for my Harbor Freight Central Pneumatic 21 gallon air compressor. This one as itg turns out was too big. The one I needed and kept is the Solberg FS-06-050. I was very happy with the results. While some folks say it does not reduce the noise, it does. This compressor is pretty damned loud, so don't expect a miracle, but it does a hell of a lot better job than any other. Really.

This product made being in my 1800 sq. ft. shop with the compressor running more tolerable. Before, when the compressor came on, all conversation had to stop. Now, while by no means quiet, you can talk at the other end of the shop in a normal tone of voice.Well made, quick delivery, just in time to save my sanity...

This is a high-quality item, and I'm very pleased with my purchase. This replaced the cheap intake filter unit that came with my Porter Cable compressor. This unit has a much larger filter area (less resistance), and a better seal between the filter and the housing (less blow-by of dirty air).The inverted snorkel inlet definitely muffles the compressor pump. I measured the sound level at 83 dBA with the OEM filter and 78 dBA after installing this unit. If you're not familiar with sound measurements, 5 dBA quieter is about 25% quieter to our ears. Trust me, it makes a big difference!I'm not going to lie, it's important to me that this product is American-made. Even the filter cartridges are made in the USA. Being a Solberg product, I know I'll never have trouble finding replacement filter cartridges.

My Husky wl660800AJ is very loud and had no filter. This reduces the sound immensely and doesn't seem to change performance at all. This is a very well built air filter - similar in weight and feel to a car oil filter! I did need to buy a couple of pipe fittings because i didn't measure the size of my compressor correctly.

I bought 2 big ones and used a "T" adapter to install on my air compressor. They decreased the decibels down to a more tolerable level. Now I don't have to wear earmuffs when I fire up my compressor. I'm sure my neighbors appreciate that too.

This product is great quality, just beware that this is 3/4" I.D. and the threads are 1" O.D. I will still use them once I get the reducers needed.
