I am a water treatment professional-I install this in peoples homes. It is a replica of the pentair big blue but at a fraction of the price.

Our water comes from a well that produces TERRIBLE spotting that really etches our vehicles. I have a full water filtering system in our home for drinking water, and added the Geekpure filter housing plus a Neopure 25 micron carbon filter after the sediment reduction portion of the system I installed - and the problem is dramatically reduced. The inset photo shows the filter housing in my basement equipment room. Its efficiency is absolutely aided by a Rusco spin-down filter and Pentair Pentek DGD-5005 Big Blue Water Filter that come before it. The rest of my home's water is also filtered / UV lighted, etc, but the hose water for one of our spigots comes from after filtration in this Geekpure device. Filtering water for car washes with well water may be for you as it is for us - a multistep effort.

Great price, overall good build quality. But do yourself a favor and use a high quality thread seal. I used the putty type and started with the cheaper stuff and it leaked at every joint. After taking it apart 3 times and soaking the floor I went out and grabbed the higher end type and had no problems after.

Bought three blue and one clear. The clear exploded a year later. The Blue are still in use.

The housing is just great for the whole house water filtering. We use it with charcoal filters and it serves the purpose well. However after 2 years fine cracks started developing like spider webs and one day I found out a fine mist of water spraying from the bottom. The pictures atached can show the material fatigue, like crackling around the center of the point of molding injection. I use the water supply at 60psi, and I tighten the housing by hand with the provided wrench, using a light film of food grade silicon grease for the O ring.Too bad is having such an unpredictable short lifespan.

Added a second filter to the first in line because it gives more flexibility to staged filtration.

Arrived when promised. Very well constructed.Exactly as described. Not yet installed so can't speak to effectiveness.

Jag förväntade mig en genomskinlig filterhus som det var på beskrivningen vid beställningen.Annars helt ok.

Installed using a 1" inlet reduced to 3/4. I used lots of teflon and had no leaking issues. The 3/4 filter uses a plastic threading, NOT GOOD it was so loose fitting I returned it. I pressure tested the system with compressed air to 80 psi and sprayed it with soapy water to detect leaks as there are a lot fittings etc. Very happy. I used a 200 micron washable pre filter, followed by a 30, 5 , 1 micron with a bypass rigged up in case of future leaks. This setup is for lake water at a cottage. The larger 30 micron was pleated along with the 5 which I can back flush for extended use. I cursed a lot during the build, stay the course and getter done!
