If you're looking for a whole house filter, this is it ! Installation isn't easy but it isn't terribly difficult either. Total time for me was about 7 hours (including one extra trip to the hardware store) but could have been a lot less.First the bad news... I had two leaks ( a fitting and the o-ring seal). However, both of these turned out to be operator error and were easily taken care of. Also, the bracket comes with screws to mount onto the filter housing, but not to mount the bracket to a wall so be aware of this.Second the good news... I love this filter system. It wasn't terribly difficult to install. As you can see, I included a by-pass so that I can change the filters without shutting off water to the house.This housing unit is compatible with any filter that is 10x4.5" so you can easily choose the filter that suites your particular application. I would recommend getting a spare filter, so that you already have one when it's time to change.As for changing the filter, there is no indicator (I actually like this because no batteries or electricity is required). To know when to change, check your last year's water bill and estimate time based on water usage and filter capacity.In short, if you need or want a whole house water filter, this is a great buy for the money ! Highly recommended !

Easy to install, even with a 1 micron filter I didn’t lose any water pressure. Feels durable, my only regret is not looking to see if a clear one was available. Other than that I love it. Fantastic, simply designed water filter housing.

This is my first whole house water filtration system. This is the smaller size I0†long. We have excellent water flow in our two bedroom home. It’s only been 18 days since I installed it on our mobile home hooked up to city well water. The filters are pure white before use. Look how much sediment it’s trapping! I included a picture of one of the 5 micron filters in the 4 pack I purchased together as a money savings deal. I recommend you also go that route. I decided to install a filter because of our water heater having heavy amounts of sediment inside after purchasing the place August of this year. I was also wanting to protect the valves in all our new appliances from damage. I think of how this sediment was getting all over me taking a shower! I knew there was a degree of sediment in any tap water. But not this much! I can’t say how much I highly recommend this filter. It’s a very reasonable price for the water filter and 4 pack of filters. Sad to say all the copper hardware cost more than the filter and cartridges. But I wanted to get away from using galvanized pipe. Sealant tape is supplied and a replacement pressure release valve rebuild kit. A canister wrench is included with the kit. Follow all the instructions provided. Use plenty of the included sealant tape especially at the fittings on the filter. I had to redo because of skimping. Follow the instructions. They give special directions on tightening fittings. I also carefully made sure the filter is in the shade at all times. A worry I have about sunlight & UV causing growth of some kind in the filter assembly. I highly recommend this filter!

It’s a good product noticed imitate change is water quality. There’s a few grips but nothing crazy1 water shoots out of pressure release valve.2 no mounting screw for bracket. You will need wood screws and a washer. Also will have to build a support in wall as too big for single stud.3 no filters with kit.Small but things that get all added several thousands of dollars in property value due to decreased wear on appliances.

The unit seems to be well constructed. Once installed, it works well, with no noticeable decrease in pressure or flow.I used a male pex nipple on both sides of the filter, and pex everywhere else. That makes installation pretty easy.The filter housing fits well, no leaks. Just make sure you have it straight when you start. I plan on putting vaseline on the o ring at each filter change.The only issue I had is with getting a good seal where the male fitting enters the filter. Just use lots of tape and tighten it a lot. I probably didn't tighten it enough the first time because I was afraid of breaking it.

This is my under sink water filter, run to a small dedicated faucet, used only for coffee, drinks, etc. I pair this with filters made in the USA that last for months. Get 1/2" male thread fittings with quick connect ends for 1/4" poly tubing for an easy connection.

Seems to be a nice unit. Was simple to install. inclusion of some mounting screws would have been a nice touch. I installed it to filter bore water for my pool, so the install is a bit rough on my part but the unit seems to do the trick. Nice clean water coming through and no leaks from the housing. The ‘O’ ring is a little flimsy and could be more robust. Given the price it’s a pretty good unit. I am happy with it.
