This mouthpiece has a short shank, much shorter than most American cornet mouthpieces. It does seat in my Bach Strad, but I have to adjust my main tuning slide accordingly to adjust for the length difference. When used in tandem with my Denis Wick cornet to trumpet adapter, the length is perfect (that adapter causes standard cornet mouthpieces to be extra long in a trumpet, thus requiring tuning slide adjustments) for use in a trumpet.The cup of this mouthpiece is very similar to a flugelhorn mouthpiece cup, deeper than most cornet/trumpet mouthpieces. Overall it plays well. It's just a different option to play with.
