This is a really nice reel. It feels smooth, has a relatively smooth drag, and it looks and feels very well made. And despite all this, the cost was quite low. I've spent far more on reels, but I don't know that I've ever received this kind of value for the money spent.I bought the XY1000 reel. I paired it with a 6' 6" ultralight rod, intending to use it for crappies. It works great for that and balances well. As you can see in the picture, an occasional bass joins the party! And the reel's drag was up to the challenge for bigger fish like this on 4 lb line. The size of the reel is good for this application... I like to "feather" the line with my index finger during the cast, and this reel's size makes that convenient. As a side note, I REALLY like the hexagon cutout pattern on the side of the spool. I want my reels to function great and care less about the looks, but it's fun to have one that works great and looks cool, too.Overall I'm very happy with this purchase.For the ratings below... Light weight: It balances well on my rod so the weight is good for me. Value is off the charts and I'd give that 6 stars if I could. Durability: So far so good. I've caught many fish on this reel over ~3 months and it's been perfect so far.

I now own four of these reels. I have three 3000s and a 4000. For the price they are the best I can recommend for durability and smoothness. I fish 2-3 times per week so I put them to use. Gear ratio is true so it's a fast retrieve when needed. Usually fish them in the Ohio River at varying current speeds and some lakes. They also come with an extra spool which is a bonus for sure for the price point.

I ordered this up for a new 5'6" ultralight rod I purchased. It's not a fancy rod and since it is ultralight, I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a reel. For the money, this is a decent reel.I got it to target small pan fish like bluegill but occasionally hook into decent size bass so I loaded it up with 6 lb braid and run 4 lb leader.The quality was better than i expected for the price. It its very smooth and casts well, too. My only complaint is that it is heavy. Really heavy. I ordered a 1000 size and it feels about the same as my 3500 size Pflueger Supreme XT's. The weight made the reel/rod combo feel very unbalanced in my hands. Enough that I returned it. It would probably be a great option for light action 6' or 6'6" rod, just too heavy for my set up.

Bought two similar models of this brand last year and liked them so purchased these. Good line retrieval for a #1 spool These had additional spools so made them an even better value. Just order two more in size 2 spool.

Very simple, for $26 bucks ish, this is a hell of a nice reel. Lightweight, extra spool, good drag, excellent!It's not as nice as say a Pfluger President, but your not paying for a President. This is a great mid level reel at honestly a phenomenal price. Done!

I was skeptical based on the price but decided to try it as a replacement reel for my uglystik 7’ surf fishing rod. It was excellent, smooth, and came with an extra spool that protects the gears more from saltwater. I’ve caught four corbina with it in one week, using 14lb mono on a size 4000 reel here in socal. This $20 reel is better than a $30 shimano. Only the side screw holding on the handle loosens on its own after repeated use, so I’ll probably use some thread locker on it.

Out of the box this was a pretty awesome reel. Smooth as butter, good drag, worked great. After several uses over the course of a month it seized up. Took it apart and the bearings were rusted solid even though I hosed it off after each use. I think the hexagonal cutouts on the spool let water in too easily. Would probably make a decent reel for freshwater but is not suited for salt.

I took a stab and ordered this product never having heard of the name brand. Took it to the panhandle and had a great time fishing. The action, gears, are so smooth, I often had to take another look at it wondering how I e never heard of this brand and why it wasn’t more expensive. I’ll be ordering at the very least one or two more!!!!

I purchased this item for my best friend who just started out in his newly loved hobby. I purchased the XY1000 and he is just loving it. The weight is just right for the size of the fishing reel. It is also beautifully designed and colored. It is very easy to use and it gave him better chances of catching a fish.The item is the same as in the description box and the image is almost identical to the fishing reel that will be delivered to your door.I am happy that my best friend is happy.Happ fishing, everyone!***

There are many reals in this price out there but I found this one really good. I use it with a 4 pieces 9 ft rod with 15 lb line and so far I had no problem at all. It can do the job in a smooth way..
