The item did not come in a great condition. The original packaging was broken, but the item itself was ok.The price is higher than the cheapest tier being sold on Amazon. Currently at ~$15. But if I consider the $19.99 laddles that are almost permanently on "buy 2 get 1 free" promotions to help sell in the local grocery store here, I think the price is fair, especially given the build quality. I think this laddle could last me many, many years. From here I have only good things to say about this.I love the perfect length, the sturdy build, and of course, the well-designed pour spout. It is even thoughtfully rounded so that it wouldn't be too dangerously sharp to use. All while being a functional spout that prevents making a mess when pouring into a smaller opening... like a cup or something. These are the main reasons why I'm giving this a five star.I also want to defend the product a little bit in terms of the many reviews complaining about its heaviness. I'm in no way affiliated with them, and I bought mine with my own hard-earned money. However, this is a quality product that I'd wish to still be able to purchase 10 years from now. I've seen too many good products that go out of business on Amazon over the years. There were a few times when I regret not having posted a good review for it while the company was still alive. I don't want to experience the same regret for this product.Prior to purchasing, I saw this product labeled as a frequently returned item. Then I filtered for its critical reviews and at the time they were almost all about it being too heavy..... I got the item and it is NOT unacceptably heavy for an average person in good health condition that only needs to use the laddle consecutively for maybe 1 minute max at a time. I think that's a good portion of this product's targeted audience. It does weigh slightly more than a typical laddle, but it is perfectly fine for an average person without severe arthritis. It weighs less than a Starbucks coffee mug, for example, and many people enjoy those mugs. I don't need to hold this laddle much longer than I need to hold a mug when I drink coffee, and like the mug, I can put the laddle down whenever needed..... In fact, it doesn't weigh that much more than my last laddle and I am really happy with the purchase. It is perfect for serving soup or whatever without making a mess, which requires... I don't know, half a minute max to serve a bowl... And that's if I go really slowly about it because I typically take 10 seconds for my bowl.Lastly, while the weight of this product is within my tolerance for a laddle, and hence did not affect my use of it. I understand the desire of not having to strain my wrists when cooking. I just want to remind those who might care that lightweight is not necessarily always a good thing in kitchenware. A lot of really lightweight kitchenwares, especially pots and pans, are primarily made of aluminum, which poses health risks due to the possible chemical reactions that could happen when heated up with things like sauces. The acid or additives or preservatives or whatever in sauces could react with the aluminum being exposed from a scratched painting, leech into the food and be ingested, then affect a person's brain or body. Here's a quote from a scholar article posted on NIH:"The hypothesis that Al significantly contributes to AD is built upon very solid experimental evidence and should not be dismissed. Immediate steps should be taken to lessen human exposure to Al, which may be the single most aggravating and avoidable factor related to AD."Citation: Tomljenovic L. Aluminum and Alzheimer's disease: after a century of controversy, is there a plausible link? J Alzheimers Dis. 2011;23(4):567-98. doi: 10.3233/JAD-2010-101494. PMID: 21157018.

I love this spoon - it's beautiful and sturdy. I don't understand the negative reviews saying it's too heavy. I really like the solid heft to it, and the length. It can also double as a weapon if there is an intruder in the kitchen. The pour spout is really great too.

Exactly what I was hoping for. It has a nice heft to it, good size and pours cleanly. I use with a jar funnel to prevent making a mess. Very happy with purchase. recommend

It’s beautiful but seems very heavy to me. I’m not real happy with that.

Nice long handle and a great size scoop on the end with a pour spout. I have ordered several of these for both home and church!
