Just installed a few weeks ago, but it slide right in. I had to tweak the ends a millimeter or two, but if you are careful, it should easily fit inside the vent box. No leaks (knock on wood) so far, previous hoses clamped right onto the new core. Would buy again, good value.

This fit my 1979 CJ7 with no issues and has worked well since. If you've got a Jeep (Heap) of a similar vintage, be aware that the outlets on these are 3/4" instead of the 5/8" that your heater hoses and some other replacement heater cores may have. I had to make a run to the parts store for adapters, but that's a pretty minor gripe when it comes to an AMC vehicle produced when Carter was President.

Glad to even find this part for my old jeep and BIG kudos to Amazon for getting the part to me next day Saturday via Prime membership! The part is well built but I had to do more tube bending then I'd like to get it to fit but its working very well with no leaks. (blast, its a fussy job getting that heater core swapped out!)

Replaced my heater core with this one. Now I have heat. The pipes were a little bit off, but easily moved to properly line up with the holes in the body.

I am restoring an 81 cj7. Some one had removed the heater box. So starting from scratch I searched and found this heater core. It is well built and fits perfect.

Not impressed. The tubes were 1/2 off from the factory core and the plate could not screw back on the heater box. It is also slightly larger on the width, and would not fit well in the box either. I went to Auto Zone to check theirs and it was the same part. Compared it to my factory one, that i brought with me, and it was the same way. I'm glad it worked for some of these folks, but not for me. I guess I'm buying a more expensive one.

Good so far, this is my second one of these. The Inlet/outlet tubes were not quite positioned correctly and required some slight bending to make it through the firewall
