I had a problem in my 2015 passat tdi where little heat coming out of drivers side and no heat on passenger side at all. I flushed the radiator several times with clean water pet youtube videos. Heat still was poor. I used this part to replace heater core. I had to remove plastic on outside to slide into slot in car. The connection fittings were tight to get on. It would have been better if the pipes were more flexible and the clamps to connect pulled the pieces together, sealed it tighter. I was able to make it work. Afterwards my heat worked great.

This was a perfect fitting replacement for my daughters 2012 VW Tiguan.She was having a problem with only heat on driver side of her vehicle and replacing the original heater core with this one fixed the problem, now heater works good again.There is a little bit of adjusting to get the lines reconnected but that is expected and was fairly simple to do, more importantly there are no leaks and heater works great after install.

The fitment of this part was atrocious. It came equipped with plastic end caps which did not allow it to slide into its home on my 2012 VW Beetle HVAC system. Since the rest of it looked similar to the part I just removed from the car, I decided to remove the plastic end caps. So I now have a non returnable item. When I installed it the hard tubes the one was slightly longer than the other making installing the clamps very difficult on tube #2. I then went to install the plastic retaining cover back over the HVAC system and it didn’t fit because the one tube coming out of the heater core was further from the heater core body. At that point i knew I could no longer return the part and just had to make it work. I modified the plastic cover with snips and a heat gun in order to reinstall it. Ridiculous! This part should NOT be marketed as fitting my car. A job that should have taken me a few hours tops ended up requiring 8 hours!

Known to be a common issue on Volkswagen cars I think this heater core it's the best value for the money good quality material and oem fitment. Great choice for a DIY'er trying to save some $$

The workmanship was great. I had to modify the plastic ends .5 mm on both sides to fit snuggly in the heater box I have heat against a third the cost. It’s not easy to install so breath you can do it

Note that the core comes with a new O-ring set, something not made clear in the listing. That reduces the net cost by $18 or more, which is the cost of a new set purchased separately.

2016 Tiguan had coolant leaking into drivers side footwell. I cut the pipes on the old core used channel locks to pry and twist the ends out . Getting them mated back together is a lot harder because there’s very little purchase area on either side. My method was to but a block of wood between the firewall and the pipes and then put Chanel locks on each side of the pipes being connected and hit the side of the locks with a hammer. It’s a mission tool a few hours. Be sure to disconnect the hoses on the firewall side so the entire radiator doesn’t drain out of the low heater core placement

Installed on a Tiguan 2011. Not an easy job. Hard part was to remove the old one one without damaging the fragile allumium pipes to which the radiator connect. Installing back was easy. Dont forget to clean before installation, I forgot and it smelled burned coolant for 2-3 weeks after installation.
