Short cut is a easy fix, about 2 hrs start to Finnish, the intake and outlet tubes will move/swivel under the crimp but doesn’t leak (rubber gasket under crimp) installed for 3 weeks now and no leaks and great heat. YouTube easy fix details

I have a 2018 JK and it had the common issue of no heat on the driver side. I used the 'shortcut' method to install this and I now have heat out of all four vents! It is not plug and play by any means but I certainly saved a lot of money by doing this install myself and this unit fit and is working great.

IT fixed my no heat issue, and a slight overheating issue. I did the quick swap(no dash removal)so had to cut ends in turn voiding any kind of warranty.. Lasted close to a year, now starting to overheat slightly and zero heat coming out of driver side, and just warm air on passenger side. Also its up almost 30 bucks from when i bought it. Going to try a different brand this next go around, and hopefully fares a little better than this unit did.

Replacing this is a $1500+ job at a dealer. If you have basic skills, some patience and tools this is a quality product and you’ll be warm and save a ton of $$$!

Saved over $1500 installing it myself. Check the Youtube video on how to do it. Amazon recommends buying the clamps (Qty. 4 ) and hose together. I bought he hose separately for $8.00 and clamps at $1.00 ea.Strongly recommend using a vibrating saw to cut the bracket. I soldered it with expoxy glue and it worked well.

The heater core comes with the piping to in the middle behind the complete dash. Since my core was replaced a while back , and started leaking on the Orings inside the pipe crimps at the core side. A shop from the previous owner obviously tried to recrimp with a plier and that may have held for a while.It needed to be replaced by me there was a constant leak, done with the help of instructional video on line.It involves cutting the pipes of existing core to connect to pieces that are left going to the firewall.Its a difficult install as the dash and bracing for it are in the way. Unless you take the whole dash apart and remove it you wont be able to install it as delivered with the pipes going through the firewall connection.
