We can't really say if this will work grooming a horse. But for what we use it for, it works very well for very little money. It's great for roughing up Styrofoam in Halloween props. It helps give the illusion of weathered stone when combined with other techniques. Be aware, though. It will cause quite a mess as you tear into the foam. It helps to have a shop vac on hand.

I bought this on Amazon because I lost the other one I had. This works well on even a short haired dog. My dog loves it and if he sees it come out, he is jumping at it, wanting me to use it on him. And the hair it pulls off is amazing. I can't even see that much hair on him... but it can cut the shedding around your house...so much. In the mornings, my dog goes outside and then will get up on the deck for me and stand while I stand on the patio. He knows it's easier for me to reach him and obliges all so he can get his brushing before he has to go back inside. If you've never used one before, it looks a bit gruesome... but they love it. I wouldn't use it on a puppy, but any length of hair it works great. I don't even care if I find the other one again, as this is such a great size...smaller and easier to handle.

This is the BEST cat brush I have ever used on my Ragdoll cat! It is so good I was afraid (at first) it was cutting his hair. Rest assured it was not. On my first use I removed enough fur to knit 2 additional cats! LOLBut the best part of this curry comb is after the brushing, you can glide it over your carpet and pick up the loose hair before vacuuming.I have spent a LOT of time and money looking for a good brush for my shedding feline and NOTHING even comes close to this!FANTASTIC!

we use this for our husky. It works so well with the dual sided combs. She doesn't mind it most of the time but sometimes it hurts when I get to her legs. I definitely recommend if you have a shed crazy dog like a husky. This gets the under coat very well and leaves the fur smooth.The comb itself is sturdy and durable.Amazing!

Really like the size and feel of this curry comb and it works great on our horse.One con, however - I ordered this for my daughter who loves red, but it came with a beige handle.

This is just wonderful for my Sheltie who has a heavy coat. it's well made and durable -- the last curry comb I had was a weak thing that broke. It collects a lot of loose down, doesn't hurt his skin which is sensitive, and it's easy to get the loose hairs and down out. These spiral curry comes are hard to find in stores and nothing good was available where I live. I wish the manufacturers had put a hole in the handle so that I could put cord through to hang it up but that's my only quibble.
