I've gone through ups and downs with this sight - but that's directly related to my skill level as an archer. I compete in Precision Rifle matches so I'm fairly familiar with complex rifle set ups and long range shooting which really is why I was able to make the sight work as a beginner. Setting up the 2nd and 3rd axis aren't hard, but can certainly be daunting as a new shooter - and for a sight like this you'll want to go ahead and get that squared away.If your purpose is strictly hunting white tail... you COULD use this sight but it's probably overkill. Let's be honest, most deer hunters aren't taking shots beyond 20 yards. A standard 3 pin sight will get the job done and they're simple to use. So why use a slider? The Hoggfather offers extremely precise adjustment, a very robust and rugged chassis, and brings accuracy potential to another level. With the Hoggfather so far I've gone out to about 120 yards, and to be honest it was kind of easy. If the sight is set up correctly, and you have the fundamentals down it sends the arrows right where they're supposed to go.So who's this sight for? Archers that demand a higher level of repeatable accuracy and performance at distance: 3D shooters, tactical, long range, or long range hunters. I probably wouldn't recommend this sight for a beginner unless you have someone coaching you along the way.

A fantastic sight with all of the possible features you could want. Spot Hogg is a top quality company and the Hogg Father is what they advertise as their flagship sight, and it certainly doesn’t disappoint. This sight has basically all of the bells and whistles on it that you could possibly want. While this sight is large and may not fit in your bow case, the large thumb screw makes for easy and convenient mounting of the dovetail bar each time you set your bow up. I’ve never had a problem with sighting issues due to the constant installation and removal of the sight. The sight also comes with a plastic box that can be used to transport the sight when not attached to the bow.Watch the videos by Spot Hogg prior to setting up any one of their sights to simplify the setup instructions.

Bought this after watching Cam Hanes. I shoot mine fully extended and it’s a GREAT sight. Solidly built, seems like it can really take some abuse in the woods. The double pin is AWESOME. Especially when you are shooting multiple target distances and don’t want to change the dial.

This is a great sight with adjustments and micro adjust for everything. But it is heavy as hell. I ended up sensing it back because it made my bow nose dive. I tried the Fast Eddie XL and it was much more balanced then the Hogg Father. Does everything I need it too. If weight isnt an issue, then by all means this is an excellent sight thats built like a HumVee

For the price point of The Spot Hog Father it doesn’t compare to the quality of other sight at the same price point. The pins are tough but the thicknesses of the pin frame takes away from the sight picture. The vertical adjustment knob with it 3 slots is sloppy. I

The best sight there is in my opinion. Donnie Vincent & Cam Hanes (two elite hunters) both rock this sight...Also single pins allow you to see more than multiple pins. Just a great sight all around. Had to get a new stabilizer (bee stinger) to balance out the sight because i like extending the dove tail and my old stabilizer was way too light.

This sight is so accurate I was hitting bullseyes from 50 yards on day one. On day 6 I used it to target lock FGM-148 Javelin fire-and-forget missiles to targets up to 1000 yards away.Definitely far exceeded my expectations!

Can confirm that after 6 days you'll be target locking javelin missiles at 1000 yards. Sick sight.
